I've made a lot of progress on this Jessie commission. It's not the first time I've done an x-ray scene, but it's the most complex and detailed one I've done, and I'm pretty satisfied with the results.

Aaaaaaaalright. Sorry it's been a while since the last update. I'm still here, and still working hard on drawings and such. Bringing 2B's animations from Spine into Unity was easy at first, but the hard part is learning how to work with them in the code. There's lots of examples available online of course, but the trick is figuring out how to apply that knowledge to how I want to use the assets...

Just a quick update this week: the necessary cleanup after importing my 2B animations from DragonBones into Spine is complete! This means two things:
1. I can proceed with finishing the few remaining "non-ending" animations.
2. With better animation tools, I want to give the existing ones a second look to make some improvements.
Improvements like: check out that thigh jiggle!

Helloooooo there. More particle progress! This time I'm showing off the effect for when enemies are destroyed! Much of the "ring" and other components were easy enough to reuse from previous effects, but the LCD-style black geometric shapes were all done by hand, frame by frame. Ok! This effect took a bit more work than the others, simply because it's ...*checks notes* eight different particle effects piled on top of each other. Still needs a little timing adjustment but all the visual elements are there and a pretty decent match if I say so myself.

Another week, another effect done!
This effect for the player getting hit is actually five different particle systems working together, plus an animation effect to make the player flash black. This should also serve as a good base for creating the effect for enemies and the player itself getting destroyed (they're like this, but bigger/flashier/fancier).
So here's my progress so far...

Hi everyone! Happy to report that particles are going great so far! I was right that I had a good base to work from and was able to finish a few more in a relatively short time. It even allowed me to go back and improve the one for when a shot hits the edge of the screen. More importantly, after creating a testing each of the new ones, I was able to get them all to spawn the appropriate effect ...
