Larger scenes like this mean more detail. I've been extremely careful about what order I attack each portion of the painting because I want to try to minimize the redundant work. Going light on value meant that I needed to go heavy on color. The color variation is what is driving this piece, so figuring out interesting ways of twisting oranges and blues together is what is going to make or break this thing. It's fun!
