I have secured professional outside help with the code, since UE4 has been giving me so much grief in building the combat system. Hopefully in a week or two it should all be set right.

He attacks you, causes damage, and knocks you back. With sound effects. I've also added an actual spotlight to his head lamp, and a red light for his eye.

That said, the collision detection stuff in Unreal Engine seems to be borked at present, which causes the robot to believe you have left his sight and attack zone despite you still being in it. When he's knocked over, he will be able to do a kung-fu flip to get back up again by opening his dump trailer. Pick hand and shovel hand can cause some damage, and since he has just 2 wheels he will do a dangerous spin attack.

As per the usual, all the official stuff is obscenely complicated; fortunately, a few hobbyists have put out some excellent stuff that makes it super mega easy. So, by the end of the week I should have a destructible robot in the game who patrols, senses you (and can lose sight of you), attacks, and can be killed.

Latest news: Floreum has completed a set of male tourist models to go with the females, so those will get a few sets of alternate textures and then be sent off to the rigger. If it were just one ladder, it would have been super easy. But making a tileable ladder segment that you can stack, in order to make really tall ladders as high as you want, not so much.

Since it's a scene with lots of falling from the sky and noisy wreckage and fire and death and destruction, it's hard to record at levels that don't clip and blow out the audio. We'll get it done, though, and I'll start experimenting with in-game lipsync.
