Corridor, Camera A

First time I start and finish a background on the same day. Feels good. :D

I will launch the next development build when I finish this floor of the house. It will take some more days.
Does it look good on your screen? Let me know

- Added some more kitchen utensils to make the environment look cluttered
- Replaced the fridge to this way better-looking model (maybe I'll change its colors later)
Now I'm working on the lights and shadows of the scene to make it a bit more atmospheric.

Enjoy.
2022-01-07 01:22:49 +0000 UTC View PostI'm sending the download link to all Level 3 Supporters right away!
- This build contains almost all cutscenes in place, more interactions, and more routes unlocked.
- The design of the entire first floor is almost finished and ready for the next steps
- Some areas have outdated graphics present that I didn't bother to update because it doesn't influence the gameplay. I will replace...
I think this will be the last time the entire game will look like this. After this month's release, we will start replacing these 3D renders with the actual drawings for the characters and environment. It will look beautiful.
2021-12-23 16:34:37 +0000 UTC View PostWe don't have much to show this week besides a giant and visually boring spreadsheet of files we need to prepare for the next steps, so all I got to share right now is this picture. It's all written in Portuguese, our native language.
We want to make a BIG stretch in our progress before new year's eve, so I'm doubling all my efforts in the cutscenes, coding and level design from today. 2021-12-10 20:35:00 +0000 UTC View Post
Since the bug on itch.io preventing patrons from claiming keys persists, I'm sending a Workupload link via DM to all level 3 contributors so you guys can see the current state of the project.
Some cutscenes were causing weird glitches during gameplay and breaking the game, so I temporarily omitted them. I'm sure I'll find a way to fix it this week.
I think I'll complete this task by November 30th at night. Coding these cutscenes are more work than I anticipated, but I'm in love with the progress.
2021-11-30 02:29:52 +0000 UTC View PostI've completed 27 of 41 cutscenes so far. I think in two or three days, I will be ready to start to pack it all to the upcoming development build :D
2021-11-24 03:21:37 +0000 UTC View PostThe final version of the kitchen is almost done
Edit: just added some assets

These two guys will be recurring characters in the story. What they are doing and who they are working for will be a mystery to be solved.
Since the script and the code are almost on point, we're going to work all this month exclusively on the graphic side of the project: we will start to build all 41 cutscenes on this list as fast as we can, and then start the sketching. November will be a busy month with lots of snippets from these cutscenes. Stay tuned!
It's our second build for Level Three Contributors to test. This time, featuring the navigation system of the game. The players will walk freely through the house, interact with some props and influence the order of some story events as they explore the house's first floor. I'm currently hunting bugs and trying to wrap the dialogue to suit most of the storytelling generated by ...

2021-10-14 16:36:23 +0000 UTC View PostThanks to your support from these three months, we finally gathered enough money to pay for an actual interior designer to build the entire first floor of Martin's house! Her help will relieve a lot of our workload and save MONTHS of research and resource gathering to make a credible house.
Now we can focus way more on game development and take this project to the next level. Thank you ve...
2021-10-03 21:51:50 +0000 UTC View PostNotice how the character preserves its position as the camera switches. I'm getting a Resident Evil Classic vibe with these camera angles.
2021-09-29 00:49:20 +0000 UTC View PostThe proofreader did a great job as always and improved several lines of the script. Now, I'm trying to run through every corner of the game to fix any possible crashes before sending it to you guys. I tried to upload a video on Vimeo to make it available only for patrons and discovered that they charge extra for this functionality. So I just attached a video file to this post to show how the te...
2021-09-22 23:16:46 +0000 UTC View PostThis game is planned to be released in an episodic manner and will grow over time. But how should I manage this expansion?
It means I'll prepare our next poll to launch today. Yay!
And I also finished translating all the dialogue and text descriptions today at 4 a.m. Four days later than expected. So now that I woke up, I'm preparing the text file to send to the proofreader. I'll finally compile the game as soon as I get his revision.
With this done, all the Level Three: Contributors wi...
2021-09-19 18:42:44 +0000 UTC View PostI think I can finish the translation in a day or two. After this, I'll send it to the proofreaders for a quality check, and finally, compile the game!
In the last post, I thought it would be easy to cover all possible reactions to player's actions with what I had already coded, but I was wrong. The complexity of the control flow grew up so fast it was overwhelming to maintain it as it was...

2021-09-13 03:51:56 +0000 UTC View PostOur first draft of the episode is practically all coded, and I'm currently organizing and optimizing the control flow of the game. I think it's better to get the text and game pacing on point before starting any graphic work in the project because it's way easier and straightforward to rewrite lines of text than redrawing entire sections of a scene.
With everything going right, I think th...
