short tutorial on how to get hair under a hat without it sticking through. im using affinity photo here, but you can use any 2d image editing program that has a mask function. the principal is the same in any program

if we lower the arms on the g8, male or female, the arm will clip through the side of the torso, which you can see on the left upper pic. and thats something we really dont want when simulating clothing, so here is an adjustment morph that will give you a cleaner result without any gaps after simulating, see the two lower pics
the easiest way to use it is, hide everything from the neck up...

so the rings are driven by the strap underneath it (which is just hidden in the end render), the strap has dforce applied on it, and every single polygon on the strap has a null attached to it, then every single ring is a child of the null underneath it. so now if we run dforce the strap will do its thing and the rings will follow along with the strap.
the belt with the buckle is working ...

and an other attempt to add a buckle to a garment. the transfer utility lets you move over all the skinning and morphs from one object to an other. so normally you would transfer all attributes from the character to an outfit. now i was trying to be smart and thought, lets just use the dress and transfer that over to the buckle, so they are directly linked to each other, and then with the smoot...

the other way to add a trim to a garment is by importing it as an avatar. the downside of doing it like this is that once you want to pose the garment inside md, the trim wont move so that will mess up the whole thing. but if we setting up a garment to use in daz we dont need to pose it inside md so this will work great for daz content :D

these buckles (or whatever they are called) dont even have holes in them. its just a flat simple piece of cloth hardened up with a very small piece of cloth on top of it and all the straps and attached to the backside of the buckle. so its really stable in simulates without any problem

did some more testing with adding buckles to a garment. here im using the same principal as im using with the lacing. so for closeup on the buckle it looks bad cause the straps arent actually going through the buckle and arent connected, but for these torso shots or further away shots it works great. its really stable as well compared to using actually geometric trims
