Cover Preview

A preview of the cover art for the next Warlock, as a big thank you to the Diabolical backer tier and up!

The booklet is hitting the layout stage, and this one should ship around Halloween. 

Also, the first Warlock Lair PDF, titled "The Clattering Keep" should go out in the coming week, building on a Dyson Logos map and including a new monster.

We like the cover of the first booklet so much, we made it into a PDF at mini-poster size.

Warlock Print & PDF for Backers

Excellent news, the first Warlock booklet is on its way to you in PDF and print! It's small but fierce, of course.

Print Shipments

All print copies for August backers are shipping today, both US and international. They are going 1st class mail, so they should get to you faster than Media Mail (for the US).

Poll Results: Locations, Lost City, and Monsters

Thank you to everyone who voted on our first poll! 

The results are pretty clear, with "Sample Locations" taking a commanding lead--editor Scott is working on getting that happening. Second and third are the "Lost city of the elves" and "More monsters"--we're figuring out where to put those in the schedule. Where to put them in the setting is easier. Southlands Lore: The Unseen Pyramid

An extra number on a map leads to an extra bit of Southlands lore for Warlock patrons today!

If you look over the map of Per-Bastet you will see that it has 34 numbered locations, but the legend only names 33 of them. The 34th location is a small pyramid located in the Perfume District on a peninsula.

First Future Content Direction Poll

We've got Warlock 1 done, but future booklets are being planned and designed with our backers in mind.

Backers from the Council of 23 gave us a list of requests, and it's up to all backers to pick one or two for us to work up first (we may get to them all eventually, but we gotta start somewhere). 

What would you like to see from this list?

Happy Eclipse Day, and Maybe Lairs

The kobolds have enjoyed the dim light of the partial eclipse today, and we also are working on some mini-adventures for Warlock backers. Those might arrive as online extras or they might also appear in print; depends on how the wordcount works out.

Speaking of expanding wordcount, we are looking at extra pages of material after the first booklet if we hit the next goal. Since Warlock has ...

300 Patrons!

This is a nice round milestone, and looks like we have some things cooking for the first poster and maybe another preview to celebrate (after Gen Con).

Thank you all for your support; we're very happy with how Warlock is going, and the first booklet is just about done. We'll definitely make our "early September" ship date.

Canadian Print Goal Reached!

Thank you to everyone who has pledged; you got Warlock booklets shipping north to Canada in September.

Better still, we are within sight of global shipments as well. Thank you all for supporting the Kobolds, and happy gaming!

US Print Goal Reached!

Thank you all, dear patrons! Warlock booklets will be in print starting from the first one, and we'll ship them to US addresses in September.

That's a very strong start, and the kobolds are frankly thrilled to hit that goal in about 10 days. Next goal: taking our vile plots to the north and Canada.

Patron-Only Art from Russ Nicholson

So this is our first patron-only item, and it is one from the Kobold Vaults!

Some patrons might know artist Russ Nicholson as the man behind some of the coolest monsters of the original AD&D Fiend Folio. Well, we commissioned him to do this bat rider a few years ago, but the project collapsed (not related to art reasons!).

Artist Karl Waller kicks us off in great style. We hope to see quite a bit more of Waller's stuff in Warlock... And we'll share a bunch of it here, of course!

Goal Hit! Warlock PDF Happening

Well, this escalated quickly! We expected to take at least a few weeks to get to the first goal, but here we are, and that's AWESOME!

We're grateful for the support, and will start moving to get things ready for the first PDF release (and gathering elements for the second).

In the meantime, lots of other things to share, plus a Q&A to organize, probably using a Discord server.

Welcome to Warlock! Table of Contents

Hey, we're just getting started, and we're 3/4 of the way to the first goal: thank you for that great support right out of the gate!

Here's a preview of the first Table of Contents. Should be some familiar names there, writing on favorite topics and including lots of lore and plenty of playable monster and rule material as well.
