12 nets, 5 miles of paracord, 500 hours of weaving and $5000 in materials and we have what we believe is world record 1600 square foot net with a 400 square foot hole so big that we rigged a slackline inside of it.

Hey Patrons. Here is our new plan. I'm creating so much content and have people helping me edit that I have to release more episodes than 1x a week. I have enough content for 3 or 4 times a week but that is not sustainable. So every saturday we will be releasing a BoltBuster episode and if that is sustainable-ish, then we will post a SlackSnap episode every monday.  ...

GGBY is getting a new net. It's going to be 1600 square feet and the hole is so big in the middle that we will rig a highline INSIDE of it. It will have almost 5 miles of paracord and over 300 hours of weaving. Watch the learning and building process in this episode with Lorenzo DeMuro, Jason Man, and Nick McPherson.

We rope swing at the Rostrum in Yosemite National Park off the 100 meter highline stabilizing the ring with additional soft shackles attached to one of the connector joints on our highline. We are also experimenting with arborist ascending methods to eliminate the need to pull people up as that can save a lot of gear and work for the team. This was the first time I held onto a super...

Is it safe to stabilize highline rings ON TOP OF an Inov Split for a rope swing. We pull test a simulated rope jump rig in the park and filmed it slow motion. This "Jenks Stabilizer" with 2 additional soft shackles could be all we need for the most efficient yet redundant rope swing configuration on a highline. Over 50 samples in the last 8 months on SlackSnap we have explored different sewing patterns on slackline webbing so we get the highest strength out of something that isn't redundant when we highline. If you put in a thick enough thread in often enough, it will hold but watch what we learn in this episode. The chart can be found at 2019-07-17 13:31:00 +0000 UTC

This video is in response to a video demonstrating that soft shackles reduced the strength of webbing sewn loops too much to be safe on a highline. We did over 10 break tests to demonstrate that they are super good enough. We even broke a 12mm quicklink with a super old 8mm soft shackle.
Thank you Lorenzo DeMuro and Kyle Lovett for helping make this video.

This is a throwback episode from 2011 from pre-Youtube Ryan. The Yosemite culture is to do epic projects in a day and doing an ultra day hike sounded like fun, mostly because people said I shouldn't do it! :) I trained for the Rim to Rim to Rim Grand Canyon hike by hiking Half Dome 2x in one day. Just as I thought I was pretty special half way up the 2nd lap on Half Dome...
