Amos & Februa

Two silly characters i made based off of the holiday of Valentines for Amos, and a predating holiday called Lupercalia for Februa.

Valentines is most often depicts for love between young lovers and such, while Lupercalia was a Roman day of blood sacrifice for fertility where women were whipped with the hides of the sacrificed animals to invoke 'fertility'.

This one was interesting, in parts of Bulgaria people have festive events where they adorn themselves in variety of bestial displays of furs, monstrous masks, feathers, and strapped with bells across their elaborate costumes.
It's a festival that seems to have origins in warding evil spirits away at the beginning of winter , the sound of bells ringing is how they present that warding.
