Up until now I have been sketching and drawing anthro characters of a very particular mythical type, like mermaids, cecaeliae or centaurs. They are half human, half beast. Gesture was one of the hardest concepts I dealt with (it’s my painting teacher’s fault… I’ve already told him that, LOL). Sometimes the body has a curve, and that creates a sense of rhythm and cohesion. Gesture is best studied with the entire figure, from head to toes, as all the body’s masses can be seen, from the larger masses (chest, abdomen, hips) to smaller ones ...

There's some poetry to incredible amounts of jizz covering everyone in the scene and piling up minute by minute like a force of nature... Whew... It also requires some serious brushwork, but I'm always glad when we achieve the intended effect.

Don't get me wrong, you can find thick paint anywhere, really, even in the most unremarkable paintings.
