Happy new year from snowy Norway!

Happy new year from snowy Norway!

Hello!

Hope you've all had a great 2022 and getting ready for the new year :) Please enjoy this short vlog from Norway where I stumble around in the snow!

Looking back at 2022, I enjoyed making videos (most of the time). It felt a bit rough with all the pressure from the super viral robotic arm video, so I ended up taking a long break this summer. But this fall I finally start...

Making a Mechanical Creature

Hey!

As you might know, I've been exploring hard surface creature modeling, rigging and animating lately, so I thought I'd make a tutorial about the entire process: https://youtu.be/ktXD_WRMY8E

With a run time of over 50 minutes, its my longest tutorial yet! So feel free to watch it in multiple sittings, or m...

Hello! It's been quite a while.

Hope you're having a nice summer! I have been on a little vacation, but couldn't resist diving deep into kit bashing and rigging! So here is an animated rig I have made this week. It's a six legged mechanical creature with some really cool parts! You can see it in action here!<...

Magical Caramel Creature

Hello!

In the second episode of Creating Whatever I Want (but I want too much), I ended up making an organic looking creature following a curve! It was a lot of fun, and I share a bit of my process of feeling stuck and trying to overcome creative block.

The technique used is very similar to my older 2022-04-14 16:01:03 +0000 UTC View Post

Lighting Setup: Character Studio Lighting

Lighting Setup: Character Studio Lighting

Hello!

In the latest video, we're recreating a cinematic lighting setup I find myself using quite often. I tend to use it as a starting point for placing shadows in the scene, but it often ends up being the only light source I need for an entire project!

A Luxurious Robot

A Luxurious Robot

Hello! The latest video just went live, and I am very excited for two reasons:

Firstly, in this video I get to have full creative freedom (with some challenging creative constraints), and it was REALLY fun to create. I had an amazing time, so if this is a video format that you like, I'll be happy to do more of it!

Hey!

What I've been doing for the past month

Hey guys,

Just wanted to break the silence with a little update!

I have had some time off this holiday and first half of january. I thought I'd be back in business right as soon as 2022 would begin, but for some reason I struggled a bit with finding the rhythm of making videos again. I almost got a bit scared thinking I was burned out!

However, last week I suddenly found mysel...

Real Caustics Video Texture

Real Caustics Video Texture

Hello!

More caustics! At first glance, this can look similar to the previous experiments about caustics in Blender, but this time I've explored a new and simpler workflow. Instead of simulating this procedurally, we'll use video footage of real caustics! Then a simple color ramp can be used to extract the data we need.

Hello Material Viewers!

I've been experimenting some more with walk cycle rigging in Blender!

I'm very excited about how inverse kinematics can be used to give so much motion to a scene. So this rig is all about controlling the tip of the legs, and then the IK solver just figures out everything by itself. I love it!
