Rough pencils, tight(er) pencils and rough inks for two double page spreads depicting stages of a battle.
This is for Free Planet which I am co-creating with writer Aubrey Sitterson.
There's is s9me perspective cheating and a lot of work trying to keep the characters, the vehicle and the buildings consistent.

Double Cross colored sketch

A fairly unfinished sketch from 2022, colored with photoshop 2024.

I liked the simplicity of the drawing on this lady's face, and the meatiness of her chest and shoulders, so I went back to try and tease a finished piece out of this.

But as you can see I didn't even finish her hands on the sketch, so rather than drawing more detail in digitally, I'm just going to post her as a fragm...

Quaris is one of my older characters, dating back to my xeroxed zine in the 90's. She rules an alien world and oversees it's ecosphere.

I think it came out okay- some of the night landscape really depends on the colorist saving my bacon.

Three amazon women caught up in a sacrificial ritual! 

This sort of jungle-girl peril and bondage has always been a favorite subject of mine.

I'd be happy to hear if you want to see more in this vein.

FP #4 p1 pencils

Here are the pencils for the first page of issue 4.

 I did some rearranging from the layout to vary the sizes of the figures in the panels and to match up the direction of the faces with the flow of reading and with the positions of the figure in the other panels. 

I am still not sure about the male figure in the central panel- he feels a bit squashed. I might move him up ...

Layout Pages Issue 4 pp 1-3

These are layouts (essentially small, quickly drawn versions) of the first 3 pages of a comic I am working on with Aubrey Sitterson as writer. We did Savage Hearts together as well as Archie Vs. The World and Jughead The Burgerian.

I am working off of Aubrey's script here: the red numbered balloons are where I am leaving space for the captions and dialog. I draw these 2 to a page on 8.5x1...
