Here's the finished postcard image. It went through a few iterations, so thanks as always to Producer/Editor Maki for feedback and paintovers. It was a bit too busy with all the characters in the background so we chopped some stuff out to make the composition easier to read.

She's done a bit of colouring here and there for me in the past on R-Type and Warframe and she always does a fantastic job so I knew this shot was in safe hands. Hello, I was approached about possibly having my characters made into 3D avatars, so I whipped up a quick sheet with the 3 TIE Fighter pilots I did all that time ago. I'm waiting to see how to make OBS play nicely so I can give you a personal tour of a 3D arcade bar I made as well.

With pretty much anything I draw, almost as much time is spent on collecting reference images as it is actually drawing! It used to be quicker, but with Google image search getting worse every year it can...

Observe, here are the elements that go into a shot like this. As you can see, you can save yourself time on backgrounds by not really painting in bits that are going to be covered up by other bits anyway.
The angle of this walk was a nightmare to get right, by the way! It took me and Maki many iterations and redos to get the character turn not looking like a Residen...
