Scene7 shot1 (inked)

Scene7 shot1 (inked)

Hello!

A bit of a rough one here, but hopefully it should be interesting, process-wise! The audio cuts off at the end because it runs directly into the next scene that I'm working on.
This one's 64 frames total, at 16 frames per second.

Big thanks as always to Maki for pretty much redoing the anatomy on this one from scratch (you should have seen what it looked like originally!)....

Autumn Drawing Poll

It is time to pick which print will conquer your mailbox!

And since it's a time for all the things pumpkin spice, we figured to let the notorious pumpkin man (you may recognize the tune from Otaking's stream music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQOR3k72S34 ) have a chance to become a true spook king. View Post

Some very rough work in progress here. A number of timing and anatomy fixes need to be implemented, and Maki is working hard on those at the moment, but here's something to look at in the meantime!

Following on from the last post, here's the next shot in the sequence. This one's 24 fps, or "on ones" as fancy animation studio people say.

Scene6 Wide Run Process

Scene6 Wide Run Process

Hello! The king of oats here.

Here's a shot I'm working on. 121 frames at 20fps! Runs and walks are the absolute bane of my existence so this one came out OK in my book. This one is a very long (as it, it's on a wide canvas) animation, and I just pan the camera left to right to follow the character, as shown in the above video.

Anyway, hope you're all doing well, and I'll get back ...

A quick addendum to last week's post, in case you'd like to see how I go about getting the VHS monitor screen effects in my films.

Scene7 shot5 compositing

Good day to you all!

A pretty simple shot here, just showing the elements that go into compositing a scene. Much of the time on this one was taken up messing with the VHS filter settings in Sony Vegas trying to get the monitor to look retro enough! Oh, and editing the buttons so she actually presses them down when she changes channels (which absolutely no one will notice).

I really ...

Hello all!

Here's a work in progress of scene 5_8 to 6_2.  I'm just getting the lines right and then will add shading and colouring.

I'm keeping any scenes featuring the friendly guest she's running away from off the previews so you can experience the full impact when the film gets the Patreon exclusive showing. Speaking of which, we'll have to do a synchronised viewing of it ...

Good day to you all, friendos!

Here's the fully inbetweened inks for Scene 5, Shot 2. Maki and I will be going through to tighten up the timing, but with some dark atmospheric lighting, background panning past and the torch beam etc, it should hopefully be quite impactful when fully done.
The frames with a "K" are keyframes, and the rest are inbetweens.

Scene 5 Shot 2

Afternoon, folks!

Here's our intrepid heroine walking through a dark cargo bay with a torch.
As you can see, the key poses alone are 21 frames, which then ballooned to 84 frames once inbetweened, it's still visibly choppy so I'll  add an extra drawing between each one and double the frames to 168. Then we'll have a nice, smooth 8 seconds of animation running at 18 - 20fps.

The TIE Bomber image had a resounding win so we'll be firing up the printing press soon. USPS has had a lot of delays (understandably) when I order stamps, but then all should ship in a timely manner for all Elite tier patrons of June and July.

Scene 8 shot 28 background

Good afternoon, everyone!

Just a quick background from scene 8 for you.
I used to play a lot of Space Engineers (a very complicated building game which soon sucks all your life away) and sort of based my space miner here on the kind of thing I used to build in that. Kind of a homage for people who play Space Engineers - though you build stuff in any configuration you like in that game ...

Hello everyone!

Here's some progress on Monday, the name of this sci-fi project. Warning: there's gore in it! We're hitting our stride in the production phase, post-production will introduce SFX and music/ambience but it should give you an idea of the overall tone.

I've actually done a few other scenes this week too, but I can't show them to you as they'd be huge spoilers.

I'm just experimenting with colours to get a nice finalised palette that matches the backgrounds and lighting for various shots. Like Akira, I want a separate colour palette for each environment, which should make the whole thing nice and cinematic.

Good day to you all. Here's a full res poster image of that girl from the TIE Fighter animation. Feel free to print it out and put it on your grandma's wall. Or stick it to the side of the family dog.

We hardly ever see TIE Bombers in the films (they're in the old TIE Fighter PC game a lot though) so I wanted to show that kind of after hours night shift vibe in the h...
