Loverwatch: No Fourth Date

Edit: Wasn't sure if I was going to continue last just doing the line art, but after a busy work week, I decided to practice some new painting techniques with it.

I would like to deconstruct the technique used to make the Loverwatch sprites, but for now this is just me experimenting.

Pushing the Choke

An artpiece based on an ancient rough sketch. In fact, it was one, of not, the first sketch I conjured up back when I wanted to start working more consistently at my art. I wanted to play around with 'weight' and lighting, so I changed the angle, but I'd still like to revisit the angle within the sketch one day.

Lately, I've had an underlying dissatisfaction with my line art. I feel like I've been rushing it to get to the color stage, but now I want to readopt an old philosophy: An art piece could be "finalized" at each major stage: Line art, colors, and lighting.

Experimenting with new painting techniques outside my comfort-zone. Usually I follow the standard cel-shading process: lines, flat colors, shading layers, etc, however, this time around I just tried drawing on one, super-committed layer.
