2024-06-27 03:07:47 +0000 UTC View PostI designed a bookmark to promote Project Dream, though the preview's in dire need of revision: I understand, at the time, I was compelled to break the language and sentence structure to better formulate unique, archaic syntax, but it's barely comprehensible, even to me...
2024-06-25 21:22:14 +0000 UTC View PostI finally finished my weekend workshop and am eager to return to my regular schedule. Between art opportunities and family engagements, this summer has been a bit too eventful; each new experience was invaluable, but they've forced me to realize I'm most fulfilled in my studio, immersed in creation's joys and rigors, lost in unfinished illustrations, or challenged by notions of the next: all I ...
2024-06-23 21:56:26 +0000 UTC View PostI've suffered from poor productivity since I returned from my trip to Colorado; everyday seems to present new distractions whether it be from fine art openings to last minute workshop preparation...it's ironic, the opportunities my art generates routinely undermines its very creation...how I miss the days when my focus remained unbroken for weeks, for months, if not more...

This may be my last traditional still life painting for awhile since my attention's gravitated towards figurative narratives and anatomical studies.
Until June 3rd, I'll be away to attend my sister's wedding, so the next full illustration may be delayed, but the initial, preparatory phases are nearly complete.

As always, your patience and support are deeply appreciated,

So ends another four-part series at an ideal time, given my birthday is a couple days away; since I'm now free of self-imposed obligations, I can reassess my ambitions for the next year...I believe I want to primarily focus on figurative/anatomical studies, full digital illustrations, and tradit...
2024-04-29 01:32:55 +0000 UTC View PostI've been occupied with academic master copies and studies the past few weeks, but have finally started my next original illustration; I've also explored sketching to quickly refine my draftsmanship, anatomy, gesture, and composition atween larger pieces. Hopefully I'll be able to produce pages on a regular basis and effectively practice without mandatory, extensive rendering.

The life of male lions is often precarious, wrought with dangerous hunts and territorial disputes with younger, nomadic rivals; though he'll eventually succumb, his defeat grants the next generation an opportunity to contribute to their collective legacy. Their individual stories, though unique, sometimes mythic, are a...
2024-04-08 16:31:49 +0000 UTC View PostFor the first time, I believe the final image pales in comparison to the color study...even if I managed to re-capture the same, crystalline affect, it still lacks the sense of realism I desperately covet.
Recently, I've started to wonder if it's possible for me to produce believable imagery without a one-to-one reference: it's clearly feasible, but how other imaginative realists manage i...

A slightly confrontational moment atween Boda and Alo on a hunt.
Though it's never explicitly stated, the two were likely fierce rivals; before Alo, Boda was the youngest and arguably smartest Ursine at the lodge, responsible for traps as well as intricate, collaborative maneuvers: opportunities to flout seniority were never wasted...
