ALL the comparisons between Levi and Eren, getting into the mindset and ideals of Erwin, seeing how Levi and Erwin have BOTH grown and changed from this time in the past to the present...this OVA had everything: heart, humor, pain, the SYMBOLISM and PARALLELS; the whole nine yards!

This is possibly one of the best single volumes of manga I've read -- in terms of a complete side character's backstory, struggles, relations to others -- and a message that resounds and connects to not only the other characters in the series, but to anyone reading as well.

This episode was a such a BEAUTIFUL self-contained story! I REALLY love Leon's character and how he slowly opens up towards Violet. And Violet's reveal of just how deep her love of Gilbert is -- I appreciate we're talking not just about sexual/romantic love in this episode, but also the power of parental love as well. There are LAYERS to love, darn it!

Our boy Togawa has been a pillar of strength and stability this whole series, but we FINALLY dig beneath the surface a little more to see his insecurities and struggles as he tries to overcome the "wall" before him...that may just be himself.
This series is taking flight, and we're almost caught up?! I can't believe it.

It's always a good sign for a sports anime, to me, when you feel either side can win and you'll be satisfied.
