Venom

Several people suggested we do the upside down kiss but reversed, sadly we already ripped up the suit beyond using it again. Maybe we will get another one sometime.

Spider Suit Part 2

I have more from the ripped suit portion of the shoot coming soon, but here is what we have so far.

Soft Light

One of our first nude shoots with strobe lighting and a large diffuser. I was really happy with the lighting however, the wrinkled paper backdrop was really bothering me. Paper rolls get expensive after a while and really only last a couple shoots before getting dented, or wrinkled. This prompted me to get into canvas backdrops and to build a studio wall.

Spider MJ

Around the House

More shots from the quarantine. I remember being happy about not working with other models for a while and getting a break to focus on shoots with Steph. These shoots got a little more risque, partly because of all the stress. We found it a fun way to relax. Plus I told myself nobody would ever see these anyway. 

No Bra Club and Not Pierced

I doubt this classifies as art... however these are questions I get asked. Why Steph wont wear bra's and is she pierced? 

Wearing bra's is very uncomfortable for her, and she is not pierced as you can see...

Evening Tea Photoshoot

She kept drinking tea during the shoot so that became the name. The goal on this shoot yesterday was to fake golden hour using a light gelled coming in through the window in our living room. We tried a couple different wardrobe options before settling for this one.

Simplicity

Earlier nude concepts involved very little in terms of posing, props, or even lighting. I didn't know exactly how to approach nude shoots other than the fact I wanted to showcase her form. 

Looking back, I am glad I did not try to add much more to the shoot, but just kept it simple.

Enter the Matrix (full gallery)

From our creative shoot a few days ago... 

This was a one light setup. I used a 5 foot diffuser with a gelled modeling light. I was shooting around f1.4 with ISO ranging from 800-1600. My shutter was around 1/160.

The key to the whole shoot however was a handheld green laser pointer with a refractor on it to give the cool green matrix data like effect.

One Light Portrait

Sometimes simplicity is more powerful in terms of light and even wardrobe and props. A few days ago Steph and I started a new series of bodyscape work. It involves heavy use of light and shadow, posing, and various techniques to deliver a high contrast closeups resembling terrain you'd see in a landscape photo. Lighting Tutorial

I've filmed the first part of the exclusive lighting tutorial and have it partially edited. So look for that soon. I plan to launch 3 videos on Patreon coving, lighting, home studio, gear, and the photoshoot process from start to finish.  Steph of course will be the model, but I have 3 other models lined up to work with me on projects in January.

BTS: Cleopatra

This shoot involved a 2 light setup. I knew I would be adding a background in post, so I used a back light to help separate her from the background. You can see I was using a 5 foot octobox as my key light (profoto B10) and 1x4 strip box with grid as the rim light.(profoto A1)

Shay was helping with make up, and we had several snakes on set.

Contrasting Elements

I have experimented with a number of props and wardrobe possibilities to compliment the female form. Plastic wrap, VHS tape, foil, paint, to name a few. 

This shoot in particular started with her covered in foil; during the shoot she would slowly make her way out of it before shedding it completely.

From the "Robber" Shoot

I wanted to do a shoot using the light bars as a jail cell so to speak, and a gobo to create a spot light. This was a concept shoot, and we did not have a lot of time, but we will do this shoot again soon, and I will talk my set up, and show the behind the scenes of course.

Natural Light

Yesterday we filmed a small tutorial, start to finish, using as little as possible. The emphasis was natural light, and use of highlights and shadows. 

I used my canon R5 and a 50mm 1.2 lens. which is obviously an expensive set up, however I am confident the same quality could be achieved with a much cheaper set up.
