Lighting

This is a super easy setup using only one large octobox placed almost in the center. The white background reflects lots of light from every direction, so there is no need to use fill lights. I usually do dark backgrounds, but it was refreshing to try out something different this time.

The Revolution

Lenita - Lighting schematic and BTS

This shot was taken with my previous camera, the 700D... that's a cheaper crop frame camera, but with the - also extremely cheap - Canon 50mm 1.8 (nifty fifty) lens I could take pictures with a similar crop as I am taking now with a full frame and a 85mm.

On the second picture, Lenita is imitating driving a truck while having a laugh attack 😂

I did my standard black backdrop shoot with Nana, than we switched it up a little when I saw this awesome top she had and that we have a somewhat matching background. The colors weren't exactly the same, but it was close enough that I could match the desired hue in post.

With a light background like this it's enought to have one beauty dish far enough and without a mesh to illuminate bot...

Old History - Lighting schematic, EXIF info and Behind the Scenes

This was a complicated shoot. The lighting, the set and the poses were relatively simple, but the light's position and strength had to be constantly tweaked because of the different skin tones and low, horizontal, vertial poses and sometimes the movement in the poses. I didn't use a separate light for the background, because the beauty dish was quite far away and was used without a mesh, so ple...
