Psychoprotective Epilogue 3

Okay, the fourth life epilogue's been bugging me for months, so as it turns out there's not enough space in one chapter to fit it all. So next chapter's going to be more of this.

--------------------------

Sakura was a bright girl. She picked up walking and talking faster than any of her peers, which gave cause for her proud shinobi parents to declare her a prodigy. Most tellingly,...

Day and a half late's not so bad. I'll just start the psychoprotective epilogue immediately instead of doing something between the two updates.

--------------------------

Tanya’s next target was one of the Empire’s capital sites. It was the weakest one, only level four. “No. (◣_◢) I’m not going to keep it long-term. Just for a few turns at most.” Tanya sent the angry ...

Psychoprotective Epilogue 2

Okay, to be clear: I don't actually like how this chapter goes. But it does set up the series of future lives snippets I was planning on doing as the rest of the epilogues, even if I couldn't manage to muster up a satisfactory amount of stuff between the end of Book 3 and the end of that life.

But it wouldn't be the first time I've regretted doing something that sounded like a good idea ...

Recently, there had been a subtle shift in the dynamics between her and Bruce. It probably had something to do with the fact that her mother had fallen completely off the deep end and had embraced the supervillain lifestyle, but it wasn't really surprising to Tanya: unlike the rest of the cult, the interactions between them were far more typical of a mother and her infant child; lots of cuddlin...

They had guns.

Tanya had more, and her units were more suited to exploiting firearm bonuses, and they only had pistols instead of rifles… but they had guns. Her own Barrier got broken by one.

Tanya put the six new pistols in her Inventory, shoved down her dress right next to her own pistol. One of them was lost when a warlord who was near the clif...

Sure enough, Tanya’s preparation for the forge to be set up in transit came in handy as Kuina got into forging herself a metal pegleg immediately.

Tanya would ordinarily veto such a decision, but she could see how the girl’s haki surged, granting her the strength to push past all limits to turn her goal into a concrete object representing her oath. Father would never forgiv...

Psychoprotective Epilogue 1

There's not going to be nearly as many epilogues as I thought there would be. As I had expected, taking that month off really damaged my ability to get inspired to write this. Ah well, no big deal. This story's had a good run.

After consulting his superiors via hat, Sir Pottingham was willing to sign a simple non-aggression pact, with penalty of immediate disbandment of any unit to break it, one of the few binding punishments that barbarians can agree to. Tanya never found the time to learn signamancy, but one of her wands was a large novelty pencil that could write binding agreements that had simple, direct terms an...

Chapter delay

Summon Perfect Warlady's not gonna be out today. I'm setting up a bunch of stuff and making lots of new references. I'm pretty proud of some of the jokes I've put in so far, but the chapter's only at 2k words right now so I'll do my best to get it out ASAP, then I'll probably go straight to the first Psychoprotective Epilogue just to make sure it isn't late too.

Sorry.

This chapter was commissioned and is thus immediately public. This is winning the poll by a landslide, so looks like y'all are getting another one on the 1st!

Psychoprotective 3.12 (Book 3 end)

The blunt drill of the Astralathe emerged from the cloudy skies, as Ford put his hand to his temple and waved his arm to direct the large mental copy. “Look alive!” He shouted, the drill slowly winding up as it built up the psychic energy, dense enough to appear more as a stellar event than anything capable of being wrought by mortal hands.

“Oh dear.” Lucy said, h...

The man sat at the bar next to her, and he was large, hunched over. While it was possible that this was an ordinary man with a posture condition… it was unlikely. One of the deviations, then. Worrisome, because the Path… had no information on this entity.

"You know, amiga." The man said, sprinkling his language with Spanish for some reason that Fortuna couldn't understand, as she cou...

As a reminder, the payment pause has ended. The first chapter after the break will be on the 6th of May, and it will probably be the last chapter of Psychoprotective Book 3, with a slight chance of being the second to last chapter instead, depending on how inspired I get.

Of course Santa isn't real! (One Shot)

The orphanage was rather ill funded, with heat for the furnace barely adequate and each piece of clothing being worn by half a dozen people before you got, mended each time. But every year, a particularly generous soul pretended to be Santa Claus and gifted the orphanage with toys for all of the good children, and a supply of coal to help keep them warm.

Personally, Tanya thought it was ...

Tanya hated this place.

It was bad enough that Being X had stuck them in one of his indoctrination camps for the first who knows how long of their second life, but there was no way he wasn't breaking some kind of law of biology in allowing them thought this clear from their tiny little baby brain.

Even now, they had to just sit in a basket as one of the nuns hums a hymn to herself...

Well, it's been lost for well over a year now, since that fateful day where the Francois's military apparatus evacuated to conduct an organized resistance, but today things were a bit more... final.

As Tanya had predicted, the capture of the last remnants of the Legadonian government removed their ability to set up a government-in-exile, and the captured member of the Council of Ten signed a formal surrender in short order.

Visha’s status as a prisoner of war was… inconvenient. She was treated as one of the nurses by most of the soldiery, another bit of casual sexism that caused the young girl so much grief.

The war was intensifying, with the Empire fighting off the Francois, Legadonians, and now the Dacians. From what little they knew about Dacia’s military capabilities, the Dacians were not a substantial threat, but they would tie up men and material that were sorely needed on other fronts of the war. If the Russy decide to join the dogpile, the Empire would be fighting on literally all fronts....
