This month's reward is another advance chapter of Merciful Troubleshooter, the upcoming Alice Long book. Just a little slice of life in the 25th century, but the worldbuilding will be important later on.
The opening chapters of a superhero story that's intended to be a bit more realistic than the usual fare in that genre, without veering into the nihilistic grimdark nonsense of common 'deconstruction' stories.
My first attempt at a story in the setting that originally became the Alice Long novels. Kavin was originally going to be the protagonist, and here we see a bit more about his background. We also see one of those other super-AIs that Alice keeps encountering, and get a worrying glimpse of a problem she wont have to worry about for a few years.
