DONE-done. I've finished drawing the hockey comic! I've even finished my first set of edits for the published book. And now, in order to recover so that I can make even more art, I'll be on vacation at the end of the month and right up until FlameCon in NYCC (August 17 - 18!).
Editing!! I read my book and sent the publisher edits:

I used a....somewhat complex system to make sure all of the necessary edits were addressed. It involved spreadsheets.

For the most part, the book is correct, but I have a peculiar style of writing. For the longest time, I wouldn't be "done" with an episode until moments before I shared it online. I feel like I don't know the final dialogue for a comic until I'm 99% done with it. Unfortunately, this isn't the best approach to writing, especially when working with the giant machine that is a Major Five Publisher. 🙃BUT! The edits are done!
And I also made new spot illustrations for Sticks & Scones!

What's Whiskey's Number? It's 10. Sometimes I uhhhhhhhh mess up and I believe Whiskey's jersey number is ACCIDENTALLY 25 in the Year 3 notes?
What are your thoughts on PK Subban being traded? My thoughts are that hockey is a fickle sport. And pro sports are fickle in general. I hope he's happy and appreciated wherever he lands. I don't know enough about the club to know whether or not it's a good trade. I do think assessing whether or not a team will have a good playoff run based on trade...that's is a bit like reading tea leaves.
Long story short, as long as he's happy--I'm indifferent!
When will all of Year Four be totally up online? When does Sticks & Scones come out?? When can I read Parse (with text)? FIRST, April 2020 is when Sticks & Scones comes out. By the time the book is out, most of Year 4 will be online. A few weeks after the book is out, all of Year 4 will be online. The comic with Parse won't be online.
What frustrations have you come upon within publishing w a company that you hadn't anticipated? First Second (and the parent company Macmillan) has been a big stepping stone for me....like the fact that kids come up to me after having discovered Check, Please! at their local library???? That being said, it means I'm working with other people. I actually love group projects and working with others! But if there's any disorganization in the publishing house, that ends up as frustration for me and delays in production. So I had some issues with design a bit? Going back and forth and communication not being clear. That was resolved by constantly pushing for clarity in communication and looping the editor in charge of the project in.
Is there a place where all the extras (drawings from twitter, tweets, all the extras on the site, etc) either are or will be compiled somewhere? Right now, I don't have plans to physically print all of the extras...but I am compiling the tweets!
