I believe the comic mentions Coach visiting with Suzanne--but off panel? And if I could re-write the comic, I'd edit that out. It doesn't make too much sense for a high school football coach to be traveling for an entire weekend in the Fall anyway.

Is this the first time in Bitty’s college career that Coach has come to see him play?? Or did he visit before and it was off-panel?

Oh boy, poor Bitty; that parental stress is so relatable. Also the "tries to be nice but is unintentionally offensive" vibes that Coach has been giving off is also relatable when it comes to parents. As always, loving the comics but this one hits close to home and I am stressed out about it...

Coach is exactly like so many of the white parents of friends I know - perfectly amiable, polite and gruff, able to joke and be friendly, and completely not realize how hurtful the things he says can be. I have to say, I love the little things that showcase him as a character, but we're never led to hate hi. God, I feel so much for Bitty right now ;_;

I just want to beam Bitty my love.

Being around Coach chips away at Bitty's confidence. That's so sad to see. Hopefully, they'll have a much-needed conversation.

I love how you’ve written Coach! He reminds me of so many people I know (read: my parents) who think they’re being inclusive but just don’t quite know what they’re doing around people unlike themselves. I could literally feel Bitty’s pain.

JEEZ. Between "your friend" and last comic's "that asian boy" I am just completely hit in the passive/micro-aggression feels of how-not-okay Coach is being no matter how cheerful. But as PG said earlier too, yeah, I don't know that Coach realizes what he's doing but man that doesn't make it any less awful.

Bitty was doing so well too, I know how he feels though. You can make as much progress in the world but all ot takes is one trigger to send you back. I'm thankful he has a rock solid support system there at the haus but lord howdy I am terrified for the talk with his dad

I feel like Coach *thinks* he's making an effort by offering to watch Jack's game? He just seriously has so little clue about how anything he's saying comes off. "Ha, there, I said Jack's name, how can you ask for a more supportive parent?"

BITTY! Just getting everything thrown at him today, physically, emotionally, the works :(
