We never see more of Mito outside of the Progressive movies because she is entirely anime original and there are so far no plans to add her to the canon. In the Beta Test at the start they were on the 10th Floor and the Door Kirito was opening was assumedly the Door to the boss room. Back in the Beta Kirito was infamous for "stealing" /making off with the last attack bonus from bosses. The blue haired guy in the Beta was Divael, the leader of the first raid group, he remembered Kirito. In the novel there is actually a whole subplot of Diavel going through Kibaou to ask Argo to buy Kirito's sword off him above market value to weaken him a bit, so that he would have less chance of getting the last attack bonus. Kibaou getting to speak his mind in the Floor Boss meeting was prearranged as part of his deal with Diavel to try and sabotage Kirito, Kibaou didn't know that Divael waqs also one of those "evil beta testers". Also there was never supposed to be a health potion, that's a thing I don't understand why they added that in again even though it's not there in the novel. Even if there was a health potion Diavel was already dead, he was in the process of Dying so it wouldn't have done anything to save him. Well all interactions that Kirito and Argo have are in private so Asuna wouldn't know about it, she and Argo meet only one time on the first Floors and it's a comedy relief scene that was cut (as it wouldn't fit the mood the movie was setting before that scene was supposed to happen). Sop since the movie is made from Asuna's POV we naturally don't get to see that subplot. Argo "the Rat" is an information broker Kirito knows from the Beta, she is the girl you see at the very end of the movie looking at Kirito and Asuna, she also appeared for a moment in the anime in the Sachi episode. She is also the one creating the guide book, collecting and buying information, compiling it and distributing it, funnily enough Kirito was paying her for the guide book, he initially didn't know that she distributed them for free at shops.

2023-10-29 01:21:12 +0000 UTCIt's kind of weird that even though there is Mito, an anime original character, and like 30 minutes of anime original content, this is imho the best adaptation of the novels we got to date. Hell this is the best adaptation of Kirito like he was in the novels, he is an awkward dork trying hard to put up a front, especially at the start of Aincrad, and they were able to perfectly encapsulate that in an anime original scene without any inner monologue or POV of him. (the scene of him trying to sheath his sword while talking to Asuna and failing repeatedly until he eventually just gives up and leaves awkwardly).
