He didnβt do it before because he felt guilty since it was his idea to loop in Peter. He recognized Peter as the rat in picture of the Weasley family in the newspaper. Thats what made him want to get out. Also, on the time travelingβ¦it can get a little convoluted. The hippogriff did die. Thatβs why Dumbledore said they could save 2 lives that night if they did it right. Also, they cut a lot of stuff out in the movies. Sirius, professor Lupin, Harryβs dad, and Peter are the Maurauderβs. They called themselves that in school and theyβre the ones who created the map. They also all became an animagus to be with their friend Lupin so he wouldnβt be alone when he turned into a werewolf. Animals are supposed to be safe around them. The shrieking shack is where Lupin would go as a kid when he transformed. Dumbledore placed that whomping willow there to keep people away during those times. Canβt wait for you to see the rest!!
