Elimination of Patreon prompts and future plans

So October is nearly over and I'm sure many of you are wondering what's the plan going forward. Well unfortunately I've made the decision to cancel my current Patreon prompt structure.

That means, going forward, I will no longer be offering prompts in exchange for subscriptions to this Patreon page. 500, 1,000, and 1,500 word prompt rewards will be removed from all tiers. In addition, I'm also unlocking all future voting rights and poll suggestions, meaning you don't have to be a paying follower to access these features. From now on, this Patreon page will be purely donation-based.

The biggest reason for this change is just how exhausting all monthly prompts have become. They were quite manageable at the beginning when I only had 10 or so subscribers, but now they consume so much of my time that I haven't been able to open public commissions for several months. I'm also not a big fan of the "you pay me first and then I have to write what you ask" method. I prefer to be more picky about the content I write, and therefore I'm a lot more comfortable conducting business in reverse: you pitch an idea, I okay it, and then we discuss payment. And finally, prompts were never meant as a way of squeezing long-form stories out of me through a steady drip-feed of mini-prompts stretched out over several months. I allowed it because I honestly did enjoy a few of the sequel prompts, but in hindsight it was a poor decision on my part. Those sort of stories are best left to formal 5k+ commissions.

Which brings me to the obvious point: now that I am no longer writing Patreon prompts, I will now have the time to re-open commissions. I know a lot of you have been looking forward to that, so hopefully it takes the edge off any disappointment in the discontinuation of prompts. In addition, if you do prefer the short prompt method, I will very likely still conduct livestream prompts at a later time if you'd like to jump on those.

So what's the immediate plan? For the months of November and December, I will keep payments on my Patreon paused. That means no one will be charged, and you have two months to cancel or lower your subscription if you do not want to support me without prompts. Starting January 2021, I will unfreeze this Patreon and anyone remaining will be charged once again. 

I'm very grateful to everyone for sticking with me so far. This year has been really rough and, with the COVID pandemic, I hit a really low point in my mood and lack of productivity. Not just in my smut writing but also in my real job. I am 100% serious when I say that without your support, I would not have been able to afford rent these last few months. So thank you everyone. I hope you all will continue to support me going forward, if not financially then at least by reading my fics, bumping my view count, and leaving a like or comment. Just knowing that people still enjoy my work means a lot, and you don't need to throw me money to be a valued fan.
