It’s really quite hard to believe that we’ve completed another game (our third in the past four years) and that we’re also saying goodbye to some much-loved characters.

We’re grateful to all of you for taking a chance on Sunshine Love, for playing it, and even more thankful to those who have stayed the course until this, the concluding update.

As some of you may have noticed, we have taken a little bit longer than usual to work on this release, and that’s mainly because we wanted to not only include as much content as possible, but to also make sure we have tied up all the loose ends as best as we can. And of course, catch as many bugs and breaks as possible.

A lot of you might be wondering how many endings there are in the game, and we’ll get to that shortly.

But we can tell you that it was incredibly stressful to code, and we certainly needed the extra time to get all the path endings correct.

If there are any errors or bugs in this update, then we’ll look at uploading a patch before we go on our month-long break from work.

About this update

How things unfold in this final update will depend on what took place during Week 11 - did the Mayor win (good ending) or lose (bad ending) the local election?

Depending on what happened, and if you made the right choices, will determine how many endings you’ll be able to choose from.

However, you will also need to make sure you have enough points for each girl to be able to choose their ending.

If you have the Game Walkthrough, it will tell you exactly how many points you require to not only get each girl’s endings, but also some of the Special Combination-character endings we have included.

And we also have a couple of Hidden Scenes in the game for you to find as well ;)

In total, there are 14 Game Endings to find (plus the two hidden scenes).

Each time you find one of the Game Endings, it will be unlocked in our “Endings” Gallery which you can find on the home screen.

There is also a Bonus Render that will be unlocked, once you find all of the Game Endings!

When the last update ended, you were on a flight back home to Darkham City.

You were on the cusp of accepting a high-paying job at a law firm that had personally requested to meet with you.

But will it really be the dream job you’ve been working towards since you graduated from college?

Or did your time in Sunshine Bay change you, to the point that your mind is always going to be elsewhere?

Or more specifically, thinking about that one girl (or maybe even more than one) that you should be with instead?

There are so many possibilities in this final release, but it’s up to you to decide where you want to end up and who you want to be with.

The question is, have you done enough to win over that special someone (gained enough love points, for starters)?

Do they still hold out hope that you will come back to be with them?

Or perhaps if you were still with your girlfriend, Nicole, you might consider continuing your relationship with her?

Potentially, you may have to decide between several different love interests in this final part of the story.

Other things to note

At the start of this update, if you are on the Good Ending path, you will be asked where you sat during the staff photoshoot that took place during the previous update.

The reason for this is that we forgot to add a variable for that selection.

So simply choose the same option you picked during this scene, as it’s important to one of the new scenes in this update.

*NOTE: It won’t affect your relationships with any of the girls or gain you new points.

Due to several changes that we had to make for this new update, unfortunately, some of your old saves may not work.

It’s an ongoing issue with Renpy when this happens and we really wish they would fix this.

Anyway, we recommend that you use any older saves, preferably any from the start of Week 12.

Apologies for this.

Searching for Gingerbread Men (not Doughnuts!)

Because this is our final update, and we’re a few days out from Christmas, this time we are getting our $10+ tier members to look for our hidden Gingerbread Men, instead of our usual pink doughnuts. We also have a heap of new Peeping Tom images as well.

When you locate the new doughnuts, it will unlock some special renders of our female characters in the Rewards Gallery.

All up, there are 12 x Gingerbread Men to locate and 25 x Peeping Tom images.

Can you find all the special Gingerbread Men in this update? If you have the Rewards Gallery walkthroughs, they will certainly help!

And if you find all 12 of them, then two special bonus renders will be unlocked!

The team and I would love to be able to continue making these kinds of visual novels for as long as possible and have you all supporting and encouraging us will make that possible.

Whenever we get to the last week of working on any of our updates, we always wish we had more time to add more scenes, more animations, or give more screen time to certain characters.

Unfortunately, that’s not always possible, and once we’ve set a deadline, we always try our hardest to have the update released on time for you all.

It’s something we do very well and much better than most. It’s a promise to you, our supporters, and one we always hope to keep.

You guys and girls are funding our projects, and in return, we want to keep to our word and deliver our work on time, every time.

Now that SL has concluded, we’re going to be taking some time off to rest and recover and as soon as we return to work, our focus will shift to preparing the release of our highly anticipated FOURTH visual novel. ;)

Much like with our early promotion for Sunshine Love, we’ll be sharing teasers and various images from the next game before we release the first update early next year (more on that in time).
