Sunshine Love v0.03.1 Now Available!

Good morning/evening again to all of my loyal supporters. 

So here we are again, back with the third update of our newest visual novel Sunshine Love!

So here we are again, back with the third update of our newest visual novel Sunshine Love!

This update in terms of content is again on par with (if not, contains more than) the last release, and we’ve fit in as much as we can for a six-week work period. 

There have been many late nights and long hours for myself and my main writer HearszAM, many emails exchanged between the two of us and Jeff Steel, but we feel like we have put together a very detailed, eye-catching, and engaging update to our main character’s story. 

Numerous times this year we’ve wanted to take a long break from the work that we have done on both games that are still currently in progress. But still, we don’t stop working. 

We enjoy what we do far too much to even have that discussion with each other. There’s always the fear of burnout but since we started working on these games nearly four years ago, we are aware of our limits, and deep down we don’t like letting you, our supporters down. 

We will take a break some time in the near future though ;)

We very much would like to make these kinds of games for many more years to come, and we’re confident that we are heading in the right direction to be able to do that.

But without you guys supporting and continually encouraging us every single day, then none of this would be possible. 

So as always, thank you for sticking with us, especially through what has been a turbulent year so far. 

About this update

One thing we should address is how we set up each of our updates, in terms of the days and weeks that pass with each release. 

It’s pretty similar to what we did for our second game “Melody”. Normally there will be two days in the game, and they will be set during a specific week. 

Each day could be either the start, middle, or end of the week. Be sure to keep an eye on your tablet in the top-right hand corner of the screen (see pic below). 

This new update is set during Week 2, and the two days are for the start of the week, and the middle of the week (a few days later). 

Time skips may become a regular feature across the duration of the game, and we will be sure to let you know more about that with each release. 

This update again has some focus on you helping your friend fix and replace things at the hotel to make sure it’s ready when it’s officially re-opened to the public.

There are a number of characters that you will continue to build your work relationship with as well. So make sure to pay attention to the information and tips that they give you.

But this update isn’t just about work. You’re in Sunshine Bay to have fun too!

What kind of fun you might ask? 

How does learning how to surf with Shortcake sound? 

Or being invited to a special evening event in town by The Twins, Ivy and Lily?

What about taking a “special trip” with the adventurous teenager Yuki?

Are you able to resist the “Milfy” Ashley’s charms while you’re desperate to learn the truth about why she and her daughter moved out nine years ago?

What about a night out with the desirable but mostly “off-limits” Victoria? And will it be a simple evening between future work colleagues, or will either of you consider it to be an actual “date”?

And what about your girlfriend Nicole that you left behind? Do you think you can make your relationship work with her over the summer, despite the long-distance that currently separates you two? 

Prepare to make the “Biggest Decision in the Game So Far”. 

Depending on what you decide to do when you speak to Nicole mater in this update, will make a huge difference between now and when the game comes to its conclusion. 

There will be a number of scenes where you might be setting up meetings, dates, or nights out with each female character in the game.

Don’t worry if your favourite girl doesn’t feature much in this update, because you will get a chance to woo all of them at some point, providing that you make the right choices. 

However, there just might be more than one female character who may consider trying to put the moves on you first!

As always, there are numerous points on offer for most of the girls during this update - YES, the points do matter! 

Make sure to check the walkthrough to gain as many as you can, because your totals for each will count for something soon. 

We have added 12 new sound effects (62 in total) into this update to hopefully give a bit more of a realistic vibe/feel about various scenes. 

You may need to decide at certain points when to switch the music off (or pause it) and to listen to the carefully chosen audio for specific scenes instead. 

There has been 12 new animations, 25 donut gallery images, and 35 Peeping Tom gallery images added to this update. 

Changes that we’ve made

IMPORTANT: 

Regarding the last update, we unfortunately forgot to add in a variable for the fantasy scene (see pic below) that happens just before the previous evening ends. 

We have added in that variable for this release, however, if you start the game from a save that is AFTER that fantasy scene, then some of the 

scenes early on in this update won’t come up correctly (or it will show an error message). 

So if you have a save before that fantasy scene begins, please start the game from there to avoid getting any error messages in this new update. 

- Fixed previous grammar errors and bugs, changed some lines from v2 that were minor plot holes.

Thanks to everyone who has sent us errors that they have found from previous updates. Hopefully, we’ve fixed all of them. 

- Again in this new update, we have spaced out the locations of the Doughnuts, rather than grouped them all closer together. 

This will mean the Doughnut notification sound won’t come up frequently (unless you’ve switched it OFF of course.)

- In the Peeping Tom gallery, we have separated the bonus pictures into Weeks. So when a new week of the game begins, each time you click on the “Peeping Tom” icon, the new renders will be there to view in the corresponding week that it’s been put into. 

Rewards Gallery 

For the Peeping Tom Gallery, there will be 35 special alternate renders for each of the ten female characters in the game. 

Simply click on “Tom’s” face, and you will see an alternate version of the render that is on screen at the time. 

In the “Doughnut Gallery”, there will be 25 bonus renders for you to locate and view in this update.

If you need help in locating any of these “Doughnut Gallery” bonus renders, we recommend that you use the Special Rewards Gallery Walkthrough to make finding them much easier (if it is available to you). 

For this first update, five specially chose female characters will have extra bonus renders for you to view and search for. 

The next update will feature some of the other characters in this gallery. 

And how will you locate all of these bonus renders you might ask? Simple!

We have set it up for you to search for the “hidden doughnuts” that will pop up on the screen throughout the update. 

Clicking on them will unlock these special renders, and then they will be available for you to view them in the Rewards gallery!

And the best part is, once you’ve found them (or the Peeping Tom renders) then they will automatically be saved in the Rewards galleries. 

In other words, you don’t need to find the same ones again, they will permanently stay in the gallery, even if you load a different save slot!

Final Words

So that’s it! SUNSHINE LOVE Version 0.03 is now available for you to download and play! 

We are trying to give a fair balance and screen time to all of the girls in the game, as we know that among the 5,000+ fans that we now have, you all have own favourites or standouts by now. However, there will be the odd three or four girls that will have more prominent roles than others.

As they say, variety is the spice of life, and given that you’re playing the role of someone who is in a new place and a certain stage in their life, new and exciting experiences certainly make life more interesting!

We’ve tried to make each situation as realistic as possible, especially the one’s between you and Nicole. Getting the timing right and most importantly, believable, is a huge challenge in itself. We’d like to explore as many possibilities as we can to try and accomodate everyone’s potential thoughts and beliefs when it comes to being in a relationship. That includes one’s that are just starting, or if you’ve been with someone for five years like the main character and Nicole have been, or if you feel like you’ve hit rock-bottom. 

Hopefully we’ve covered some of these things in the three updates we’ve released to this point . 

We sincerely hope that Sunshine Love v0.0.3 has been worth the wait for you all. It will be a long journey that for us is only just getting started. 

But we do feel that once you’ve played through this update, you’ll be able to see plenty of possible and potential eventualities in future updates.

Production has already begun for the next release of our "other game". It will be the last update of Chapter 3 with a revision of Chapters 2 and 3 taking place in late-November and into December. 

The start of Chapter 4 will be released in early-2021.

We will be taking a bit longer to work on the next update, more so than usual, as it’s obviously the most important release that we’ll have to create in a long, long while. 

We’ll have more details on that and a preview sometime within the next week.
