I spoke to MrDots about this earlier on and he said it was a problem with the new software. It also happened with DMD saves last month. Unfortunately it's not something we can fix on our end right now, but glad you figured a way around it!

2018-12-24 05:44:15 +0000 UTCHad a problem with my most recent save at the very end of 1.6 but went back to save before Melody's date with MC and it worked fine. I'm guessing some script changes were made on the date?

2018-12-23 23:14:11 +0000 UTCFYI - for this update: I had to load back a few saves from where I had ended it, but I got it to work. Things are slightly out of sync. I am not sure if additional content was added to a few of the earlier scenes to cause this.

2018-12-23 20:22:21 +0000 UTCrenpy keeps a copy of your save games in a common file area. when you unzip and start the next version your old saves will already be in there waiting for you. i could tell you the full path to this common area but its really not important. enjoy !
