Taking A Break In January

We hope that you are looking forward to the upcoming release of Melody v0.0.7 :)
My team and I also thank you for your patience after we spent all of November working on and releasing our other game.
But today's post is to talk about something else…
I have personally been working on these games for just over two years, pretty much every single day, without a proper break. Before I signed up to Patreon I worked a normal job, and when it came to decide to quit to chase my dream of being a full-time game creator, even then I didn’t take any time off - I started working the very first day that I signed up!
The last time I took more than a week off was nearly three years ago.
Even HearszAM, my chief writer for both games confessed that he hasn’t taken any more than four days off in a row since March of 2016!
So, as you could gather from this post so far, we wanted to let you know that once v0.0.7 of Melody is posted on December 23, my team and I will be taking four weeks off.
The break we're having is to give us a chance to recharge our batteries (so to speak) and to freshen ourselves up for when we begin working on the games again at the end of January next year. We want to go out on a high with Melody, and we intend to put as much detail and quality into this update as humanly possible!
As I’ve said several times before, we make these games for you guys, those that support us with your comments, feedback and your kind continual donations/pledges. 2018 has been a tough year, but ultimately it has turned out to be a really rewarding one too.
So that’s it for now guys.
We’ll be looking to start working on Melody v.0.08 around mid to late January with the release in late February. I'll be pausing the pledges in January so you don't get charged during that month.

OMG...I just played DMD....You guys are brilliant...Melody is still my girl, but oh WOW, DMD is a fantastic story as well. As Cartman would say "Rachael is a B*t*H, she a big fat B*t*H, she the biggest B*t*H, in the whole wide world!!!"

P.S. you may bring a tablet just to write something but avoid pc, laptops and anything similar

2018-12-21 13:42:23 +0000 UTCThe main reasons I advocate a month off: (1) having been active duty military (no, never deployed), they support a long 3-4 week leave as more beneficial than smaller multiple chunks; (2) a long vacation has the weird but somewhat beneficial outcome of marking you miss your job; and (3) given the monthly release of MDots product, a month leave with that month in hiatus is easier than a week or so which conflicts with a release schedule on a monthly basis.

Working a normal full-time job usually comes with some paid vacation, and your team has been amazingly consistent with updates and releases. Again, that's just how i feel about it.
