“MELODY” v.0.0.2 (WEEK 3) IS READY FOR YOU TO DOWNLOAD AND PLAY!
About the update (SPOILER ALERT)
WEEK 3 will be you as the main character further progressing your student-teacher relationship with Melody.
During v0.0.2, you will have the chance to officially be regarded as her “Friend”.
Once you have achieved this, a new objective will become available in the menu section, under “Relationship Level”.
For those also on the Rebecca or Isabella paths, there will be important scenes featuring these characters as well.
As mentioned after the first release of MELODY last month, we were overwhelmed by the feedback and positive responses from fans.
But we also noticed just how many people commented and posted about their interest in these side characters.
So because of this, we will try to make them feature a lot more often than side characters did in our previous game. Melody naturally will still be the main character of focus though.
This week of the game will be more of the MC familiarizing himself with the town, as well as further building his relationships with the female characters in his life at the present time.
The music lessons with Melody will continue, some more music-themed dates, as well as some mini-games featured which will offer the chance to gain more “Melody points” and also the opportunity to progress to the next level of the game.

The next update
At present, we don’t have an official date set for v0.0.3. The big reason for that, as many of you may know by now, is because my team and I will be spending May working on my previous game.
Both games are hugely important to me and making sure that both stories continue on is what I feel the majority of my followers ideally want to see.
Given the circumstances in previous months, this is the best way I can do things for now, but rest assured, Melody is still the main priority of the two games at the present time.
But I also made a promise to do everything I can to complete the other game and to give it the ending it deserves. Not just for myself or my team, but for you guys (and girls) who have supported me through to good and the bad times over the past 19 months.
As aforementioned, if a more suitable alternative becomes available, then I’ll let you know if there’s a better way for how we can do things.

2018-05-15 23:46:23 +0000 UTCYeah the “week-per-episode” system was one of the first things we decided upon after creating the Melody game characters. The day system made more sense for DMD whereas a week to week system is better for Melody as the main character isn’t expected to spend every day with her. It also gives us more flexibility and options for what day of the week when can place certain events (the opera - early to midweek, karaoke - end of the week).

2018-05-03 07:10:31 +0000 UTCWell, just because this game is centered about Melody, I think the other girls won't have their own "exclusive" route, a "parallel" route maybe (I really like the character of Rebecca), but I don't think I would like it, nor the harem" route; in fact, in the previous game I only played the "D only route" (I'm a romantic and faithful person, who wants to be only with the "right one", what can I say!). Even if in the end it's only a matter of tastes. I mean, it's a game, so what's the problem? ;) About my question, I tried to ask (with my bad English!), if there will be the possibility to know the day we are playing in "inside" of the week. For example, about "Week 3", at the beginning of the week, I assume that it's Monday morning (when MC wakes up), the meeting between Melody and Amy takes place on Wednesday or Thursday at noon, the "karaoke event" on Friday or Saturday evening, etc. I think that it could be easier to follow the story if you know the moment of the event. I know that it's not necessary to play the game, I'm only thinking about the story. That's all. By the way, I like more the "week system" than the "day system", because I think the story can develop better and in a more natural way. Just to say it.

I'm afraid that MrDots is keeping these answer cards, closely to his chest, which even as a writer is kept as a mystery to me, that is until specific points in the game need to be written about. Melody undoubtedly is the female lead in this VN, but the way things have begun, I wouldn't be surprised if fans will hope that the other female love interests in the game will become their primary focus and to be their main goal of winning over at the end.

2018-05-02 12:22:36 +0000 UTCBy the way, I don't know if it's ever been asked/answered before but while Melody is the primary romance target are we forced to romance her in this one in the same way we're forced to romance the daughter in DMD? I assume we are simply for simplicities sake at least up to a certain point, although I am curious if we're forced into either a Melody only ending or a harem ending or if any of the other girls are planned to have their own exclusive route.

What I can tell you is that each week is set over three days (weekdays), with scenes taking place in the morning, lunch/afternoon and nighttime. We’re looking at implementing a notification on screen to let players know when the day changes and which of those three times of day you’re currently at. Hopefully have that added very soon. Watch this space! :D

Just one thing: I was wondering if it's possible to know which day we are playing in. I mean, I thought, while I was playing the game, that you can follow the story better if you know which day is in that moment (related to the scene you're playing). I don't know if someone else has already thouhgt about this possibility, nor if it's possible to realize it. It's just an idea, nothing more. Keep up the great work!!!

Imo, from the opening, you’ll see MC had growing problems with Beth. In addition, he has a bad attitude of burning his bridges. — MC is designed to have several issues over the course of the story and, hopefully, at the end of the story you will better identify with him in his “more enlightened” state.

Seriously, he gives her everything (house, furniture, everything in the house that's not stuff he needs - like clothing and his instruments - and she wants more? "Give me the other car!"...yeah right!) I also like Melody! I like that she's a tomboy (and I hope you don't force us to change her! I didn't like "forcing" her into a dress...it's not like there aren't pant-suits for women! You don't have to wear evening gowns/dresses anymore as a woman if you don't like to!)! That makes a girl/woman more attractive to me! Heels (I would never wear something that hurts me - I mean Melody does complain about her feet hurting after the theater - in place of something that looks only decent but doesn't hurt!), dresses and purses (not to mention large goofy sunglasses and super large wallets!) are a turn-off for me!

2018-04-29 11:50:28 +0000 UTCI suppose I just cant connect with somebody who resents having to be faithful if a relationship falls through. I was in a relationship from 18-23 a year of which was long distance and I had numerous opportunities to cheat but I didnt and even though we broke up I regret nothing and dont resent having to be faithful like the MC seems to be. After all I loved her, even if I dont anymore. I guess my issue in connecting with the MC is that resentment, did his relationship really mean less to him than some random hookups just because it fell apart? If thats the case why was he ever even with Bethany, why did he stay loyal? Surely he had loved her a great deal at some point. I dont mean to be overly critical, or even to say the MC is unrealistic or unrelatable. Its more that my priorities just seem completely out of whack with his I suppose. For me focusing so much on hookups lost out on after a breakup seems a massive trivialization of the end of what presumably used to be a great relationship. Sex is great but for me I learned at certain point that sex is just sex it feels amazing and then it ends and that’s it, loving somebody and being loved feels so much stronger, like a drug that’s going nearly all the time (outside of the struggles present in every relationship) and then over time that feeling becomes less frequent for most but can be made into something even more deeply fulfilling and rewarding if less intense if both sides put in the effort. The point Im trying to make here is I cant fully comprehend why the MC cares about missing out on some wild sex, he got enough of that anyway it sounds like, meanwhile he doesn’t seem to care much at all about his collapsed relationship, seeming to only focus on the negative aspects of it. Again, I think I should be clear that I don't even mean this as a criticism exactly, it's not like every game is going to cater to every taste, and at the very least you guys offer an erotic game where I'm not mind controlling or date raping people (thank you so very much for that, it seems rare). However I just cant get into the headspace of the MC, and that's fine, it's just something I felt I should communicate I suppose. For me it's just way too trivial to care so much about missing out on some sex, especially when I assume he at least had sex with Bethany when he WAS home. Maybe over the course of the game I'll get to understand him a bit better, but right now he reminds me of a lot of college kids who just broke up with their first high school girlfriend and suddenly are regretting being "held back", which to ME is immature, and it's OK that others don't find that immature, I don't judge, it just seems weird he's immediately "over it" so to speak and already thinking of all the times he could have gotten laid. And again very sorry for wasting your time and the terrible punctuation/spacing, I did this all on mobile where Patreon is a nightmare.

I'm not suggesting full voice overs but even some simple background music would make the game so much better. Other then that the game was great. I must say I'm kinda disappointed your working on your other game as I want to see how Melody progresses. That said I know why you are switching games as many people wanted to see it finished and I'll still play that as I love your work.

2018-04-29 01:58:32 +0000 UTCGreat feedback there SL. Yeah these are good questions you've posed for us, especially about the MC. His character still has some development and more details about his past to be explained. It's not that he wants to be a player, it's more about the options he now has after just coming out of a serious long-term relationship (with Bethany), where he was completely faithful the whole time they were together. And he never did the dirty on her even though his lifestyle gave him a number of chances to do so (e.g. groupies, singers etc). A couple of the main reasons his relationship with Bethany failed is due to his lack of commitment, and the fact he was always away from home due to his job (touring). From my own point of view, learning the music trade (so to speak) was what the MC loved about college, as much as the parties and girls he hooked up with, but he was focused enough to not only pass his course, but to be able to make a good living and a career out of what he's so passionate about, that being music. And that's essentially what he's going to try and teach Melody. College can be fun, but there's still that huge element of seriousness to what she wants to do in life, and that is dependant on how much time and dedication she's willing to put into the course she is currently taking. Again, thanks for the feedback, it's really helpful and will be kept in mind as we continue to create Melody. :D

2018-04-28 21:59:09 +0000 UTCI prefer Melody to the daughter in the previous game, but boy I don't like really like this MC much, I didn't really like the other MC that much either tbh but I didnt mind him. This one though, I dunno I guess it's not so much that I dont like him so much as it feels bizarre to be playing a POV game where I feel so little connection to the MC, his talk about parties and booze being his favorite part of college, and all his regrets about getting into a relationship just took me right out of character. No fault of yours of course, not realistic to hit the right note with all your audience, just for me I didn't mind partying but I loved serious relationships, and I never felt bitter about breakups. I never did get married though haha, it's just I feel he still seems a little immature so to speak, like he still has some growing up to do, with more of an obsession with immediate pleasures rather than something deeper. There's nothing wrong with being in that state, it just seems like he'd be the type to want to get into bed with Melody rather than have something serious. I suppose that also reflects in the way your MC's do tend to cheat, which I assume will be an ongoing theme in this game, I almost feel like there should be some sort of morality system, but I suppose it might eventually be handled in less of an obvious way? I dunno, it's just I hate being a "player" so to speak, but the game sort of gives my character the thought patterns of one in this game regardless. And holy shit I just realized how long this was, I apologize.
