More info about "Melody"

Hi guys!

We have a little under three weeks until the much-anticipated launch of our new game “Melody”, and the team and I wanted to give you a little bit more insight for what to expect from this very first release.

Weeks instead of days

Each release or “Episode” of the game will feature scenes and gameplay that will run over the course of a week in the life of you the MC, Melody, and a number of other characters that you will meet and interact with. 

We are choosing weeks instead of days as it will allow us to do some time skipping in the game, and it could be more realistic and interesting than using a 24/7 system like DMD.

Extra week on Episode 1 

There will be two weeks of the game to start off with, but every other episode will be just one at a time. 

We have done it this way, so we can give you all a better look at some of the main characters that will feature throughout this visual novel, a little extra game play than usual, and so you can get a grasp on what the objectives are for winning Melody’s heart also. 

Plus, we wanted to reward those who have stayed on with us, as well as your patience through what has been a tough few months for my team and I.

Female Characters

Most of the female characters that feature you will be able to date, have a relationship with, and maybe even more than that. 

You have already met one, Rebecca, and we hope to release more pictures of other girls in the next couple of weeks.

Melody will have an Asian girl and a blonde girl as friends :) The blonde girl (Sophia) will have a similar body to Elena, so she won't have big boobs or an ass like D, just to make things a little bit different ;)

Menu system

The menu designs and scoring systems will be a little different to what we have used previously, as will the “unlocking achievements” system we have in place. But there are also options and arrangements in this game that you will be immediately familiar with, presuming you have already played my previous game.

About the story and the characters

As you already know, the story will be music related but the "music content" will be minimal compared to the other activities in the game. 

Most of the content will be focused on your relationship with the characters and especially with Melody. We don't want to spoil the story too much, but she won't trust you at the beginning of the game. So you'll have to earn her trust by doing certain music-related activities and making certain decisions in the game.

As the game progresses, the music stuff will give way to more personal activities like going to a club together, having dinner, etc.

We also want to give the side-characters a proper back story and more depth since it's something we feel DMD lacked.

Extra Lewd Pack ($20+patrons reward)

The first episode will contain an extra pack with several animations and hidden images, just like the ones we used to release for DMD. So expect some naughy moments in this first update ;)

Choosing an outfit for Melody

Choosing an outfit for D was a reward many of you liked, so we will bring it back for Melody. The poll will be posted after the release date of the game.

It will be a Renpy game

Finally, some of you have asked me if we will use a different platform for the new game and the answer is no. We will keep using Renpy because we are already familiar with it and we don't see a good reason to move to another platform. We want to focus most of our time on building the story rather than making experiments with new software.

Final words

So that’s it for now guys. February has definitely been a difficult month for all of us, but I'm sure March will be a lot better :) 

We are very excited about this new project and we can't wait to share the first episode with you. I'm sure you will love it :D
