Sad News

Today is a very sad day for us.
With much despair, I have to regretfully inform you all that DMD will no longer be available on Patreon.
Earlier this week, I received an email from Patreon’s staff, informing me that I would not be allowed to continue with the development of DMD on this platform anymore. They gave me the chance to continue this game on a different site, as long as it’s not related to Patreon in any way.
Initially, their team had planned to have my page completely removed from Patreon unless that I appealed their decision and gave a reason why I shouldn’t be banned and no longer able to create games on here. After three days, I finally received a response, where they were happy to keep my page open, but it has been at a huge cost - me agreeing to remove anything related to DMD from my page.
They have given me until Monday January 29th to remove everything that relates to the game. Otherwise, I would be banned indefinitely.
Patreon have allowed me to keep my page alive and continue on with a different project, but this time they want to make sure that there is no incest involved. I in turn have agreed to forward my new project idea, storylines and walkthroughs to them before they are published on my page.
When I received this news on Monday, I couldn’t work on the update to be able to finish it. I tried really hard, but I just couldn’t focus, given the tough decision I was left to make. So, I’m terribly sorry but I won’t be able to release v.17 this Saturday as promised.
I know some of you right now may feel cheated, angry and at a loss for words by reading this post. And you have every right to be.
Because that’s somewhat how I feel as well to say the least.
About DMD:
I’ll be moving the content to my own personal website and we will try to find a way to keep the development going.
Don’t worry, I’ve already saved your email addresses and you’ll be hearing from me soon. Even if you decide to remove your pledge, I will keep in touch with you since I owe you this month’s rewards and I plan on delivering, but it won’t be on this platform anymore.
About the new project and moving forward:
We don’t know exactly what the new project is going to be about just yet, but we have had a few ideas in the pipeline for a while now that will now be looked at carefully. Work on the new project will begin in March/April.
Before then, I’ll be creating different polls to see what kind of story you would like me to work on next.
That will give me an idea of the kind of game you could potentially enjoy and continue your interest in my work.
I’ll be taking February to move the content to my website and to respond to any questions you might have.
If you decide to leave, then I’ll understand:
I know that many of you only cared about this game and that’s why you signed up to pledge. And if I don’t continue on with DMD now and decide to make different game instead, your first thought may be to leave. I completely understand that. But I’d like to think that you all pledged because of the work and passion we put into our game every month, no matter what the game is.
That’s why I’d like you to stay on for a little longer until confirm our next move. I’ll do my very best to make it worth your while.
If you decide to stay, you won’t be charged until we start a new project:
I have the option to pause the campaign, so that you don’t get charged next month and that’s what I have already done a few minutes ago.
I don’t think I deserve to be paid if I’m not working on anything, and since it might take us a while until we start the new game, it certainly wouldn’t be fair to charge you.
Also, I’d like you to take a look at the new project first and then decide if you’d like to continue being a patron of the new game.
You the fans, are what has kept me going all this time, and none of this would have been possible without you.
Final words
I really do appreciate the support you have all given my team and I, ever since I started making the game. It has been a truly overwhelming experience and one I will cherish for a long time to come.
I never expected this game to become as popular as it has when I first began making it.
So, I’m also incredibly grateful for that too.
The one thing I advise that you do, if you have not done so already, is to download any version of the game that you don’t already have, as I will be taking those links down on Sunday as well.
I’ll keep this post alive since I know many of you won’t see it immediately.
If you have any questions to ask, I’d recommend you PM them to me, rather than post them on the wall.
Any comments or posts related to DMD after this weekend will not be answered or they will be deleted, so we can abide by Patreon’s request not to mention the game. So as I said, PM me instead.

Way late to the party on this one. I just joined your Patreon site today and got the notice in the welcome email that DMD is no longer on Patreon. And, as I suspect, it is because of the incest theme. Well, I guess I understand that. It's interesting, because the other Patreon site I support, also has an underlying, though as yet un-realized incest (not completely anyway) theme between two of the primary characters - except in their case the relationship is claimed to only be via marriage. Sorry to hear this, but very glad you made the DMD story available via other outlets. Thanks for that!

As has already been confirmed, the project will not die, but will be continued on another platform. But there are also several people involved in this project and that means that you only have to consult with them. It's not only about how the old project is going to continue, but also about what the new Patreon-compliant project is supposed to be and how it will be built.

I'm absolutely furious about how you and other creators were and are treated. Clearly the internet is a far cry from the free space it used to be, with all those companies imposing themselves on people's creativity. That being said, I had to cancel my pledge last month, due to not even having the little money left for it, but the moment I can, I will pledge again (as small and miniscule my contribution is gonna be), because you deserve the support. For one because you decided to continue the game, unlike certain others of a metallic namesake who completely abandoned the game that raked him in so much money over the years, for the other because I'm sure any new game you decide to do will have the same qualities DMD has. 2018-01-31 00:07:50 +0000 UTCIl y a une alternative, Dr Sin de lewdlab avec The Dreams of Desire , a pris un mois et n'a pas sortie son nouveau chapitre au mois de décembre et a change tous les noms de ses personnages comme ( maman est devenue la proprietaire les sœurs sont devenues les colocataires et la tante est devenus la voisine ) et il peut continuer son oeuvre et diffuser sur patreon sans probleme, et franchement moi qui suit ce jeu depuis le début même si les nom des personnages ont changer cela ne fait pas une grande différence je retrouve mon jeu et je remet les personnages dans leurs contexte et tout va bien, MrDots c'est peut être la solution pour aller au bout de votre oeuvre et de vos idées et nous donnez a tous la fin de DMD même si il faut changer radicalement le titre cela doit être moins compliquer que de refaire tout un projet, c'est mon avis et je suis sure que d'autres le partagent et veulent aussi savoir la fin de notre jeu romans a tout prix . je pense que si vous rester sur patreon ce sera plus facile pour nous de vous soutenir tout les mois.

Next devs started doing incest games because of profit. And in this entagled way best ero games in patreon became incest games. Patreon cut this trend off now, and in my opinion it was good idea. Patreon don't ban creators, just say them change this stuff in your game. I'm absolute sure thay most of your patreons like your game not because its incest game but despite that it is incest game. This Patreon decision is not a punishment it's a chance to change your game to a project that will not deter incest content.

Happy to keep supporting elsewhere, but I'm not a big fan of supporting so early into new projects - end up giving 2 to 3 times the cost of a triple-A game only for events like this to happen and potentially end games unfinished. 2018-01-27 11:36:44 +0000 UTCA TOM: ils faut être prudent car patreon examines plusieurs page de créateurs en ce moment qui sont bloquer et je suppose vérifies les contenus, bien sure DMD est surement le plus populaire, mais je pense que d'autres seront bannis dans peu de temps, ce qu'il faut pour ces jeux avec un caractère spécial lier a l’inceste est d'éviter de le faire paraître dans le titre du jeu ou sa description, mais juste le paraître en déduction pour ne pas attirer l'attention , comme je l'ai dit dans mon précédant commentaire si MRDots change le titre ou/et les liens de parentés des personnages principaux alors il pourra rester sur patreon ce qui va l'aider a garder son jeu et ses soutiens financiers , car j'ai vu que certains on réduit ou annuler leurs contributions, pour ma part je vais l'augmenter de $15 a $20 dès le mois prochain pour encourager MrDots a ne pas baisser les bras devant la pression de tous ses moralistes qui sont faux pour la plupart d'entres eux.

That negotiation itself caused the initial restrictions on Patreon before the financial institutions would agree. — don’t really know if the newer restrictions are related to finance concerns as well, or at least in part, or whether Patreon is trying to not offend Christian mores or liberal mores, but for a non-political project like DMD, I know there are patrons on all sides politically and socially who support MrDots regardless of Patreon’s motives.

In a way i can understand patreon but at the same time "fetishes" are nothing new on patreon adult games and this ban worries me to further creators. DMD was that game that even if i went broke i would keep pledging to. The story was put together so freaking well and the rendering was done in a way that would keep user interested troughout many scenes.

I would also continue supporting DMD on another site for as long as it is worked on. DMD is one of my favorite games on Patreon so its a shame to see it go, but i do hope that it will still see completion as so many games i have supported just disappear.
