Sweat it out

Catra was covered in sweat, glistening in the early morning light as her tail swayed behind her contentedly. She put both her earbuds into their charging case before she looked up and noticed Adora. Catra’s eyes were sparkling from the exercise and her cheeks were pink. Adora was sure she had never seen anything so beautiful in her whole life. Catra looked surprised for a moment before she smiled and walked further into the kitchen.

“Morning, you’re up early,” Catra commented and Adora realised that she had frozen in place, holding her coffee cup in mid air on its way to the coffee machine. She continued with her action quickly as she looked away from Catra.

“Morning. I thought I might get some work done,”

“Did you sleep well?” Catra asked curiously as she got a mug down to make her own coffee. Adora knew how to make her coffee the way she liked so she reached for Catra’s mug and was allowed her to take it. “Thanks,” Catra said, her fingers brushing with Adora’s as she took the mug.

“I slept enough. What has you up so early?” Adora asked as she turned to focus on the task at hand.

“Just couldn’t sleep,” Catra said as she moved to lean on the counter near Adora.

“Bad dreams?” Adora asked looking back to Catra.

“Something like that,” Catra said, and Adora noticed a deeper red coming to her cheeks as she glanced away.

“Does running help with that?” Adora asked and Catra nodded.

“Sometimes. It helps to burn the energy either way,” Catra said carefully and Adora decided to drop it since Catra seemed uncomfortable.
