Fun fact: the guys in the visors working under Guilford are the Glaston Knights. All of them were adopted sons of Darlton, the guy Zero made betray Cornelia before brutally killing him. "Glaston" was actually made up from a letter of each of their names: Alfred ‘G’. Darlton Bart ‘L’. Darlton ‘A’ndreas Darlton Claudio ‘S’. Darlton David ‘T’. Darlton Edgar ‘N’. Darlton Alfred and Bart died in this episode. Looks like Lelouch might finish off the family tree yet.

He's a troubled young lad who acts in delusional and contradictive ways. I chalk up his seeming naivety as him doubling down on his past because he wants his actions to be justified.

Just to keep the Chinese situation clarified, Xing Ke (resident Chinese sexy man) wanted an excuse to get rid of the consul, and the geass was perfect for that, so he gives the Black Knights a bone and says if Zero shows up and does some cool stuff, he'll just let them. Basically a win-win for him, cuz if Zero didn't show or lost, he would just use the BKs as diplomacy tools with Britannia.
