Cavegirl: Dinner Date Part 1

It's been a frustrating week for me workwise-- a lot of real-life stuff to deal with slowing me down and cutting into my working hours. I have managed to finish a few things, like this first page of the new Cavegirl mini comic! More next week!

Cavegirl: Dinner Date Part 1

Comments

Hmm.... Maybe!

Manic

The lady from the DEN commission.

Confidente100

Who's she?

Manic

I see. Will you ever have her meet Katherine Wells?

Confidente100

She is, yes!

Manic

Your grasp of detail is improving! Out of curiosity, is your modernised version of Cavegirl an American lady?

Confidente100

Again... I didn't deliberately do that! But if that's what you can see, that's awesome!

Manic

Manic… I love where this one is heading ! One little detail that I’m super appreciative of that you can’t even see unless you zoom in on the panel… But that makes it that much hotter is that if you zoom in on the back of her little black dress you can see the outline of the thong she’s wearing underneath… Your attention to detail is always so incredible and appreciated…

Heh, this was not actually intentional! My wife remarked about the size of Diane's derriere when I was working on this piece earlier. I honestly didn't realise I'd made it so prominent 😜

Manic

Love the subtle expansion of her rear end at the end of the page. Diane/Cavegirl is one of my favorite FMG characters!

Jose Almeida

Again, it's wonderful to have appreciation of the finer details in my work! I'm very grateful--you don't know how long I spent drawing that bloody arbor 😋

Manic

I thought the same thing earlier when I saw the run-up to this final page. I think that's cool as it means we get to see a few hints of what that scene might have looked like. But this page is great on its own merits with the story that's playing out. The change in Diane's voice and her two would-be-suiters' noting how different it sounds from a few moments prior is a nice detail, made more interesting when she doesn't even notice it herself at first. Some great detail in the restaurant background in the final panel, with the plants hanging on the arbor and the expressions on the other diners' faces after this blowout. Excellent as always!

Terry

The situation is only similar in a general sense, but this reminds me of "Love at First Bite" when Cindy Sondheim storms out of a fancy restaurant in disgust while rival Dracula and Dr. Rosenberg try to hypnotize each other. I do really enjoy your Cavewoman stuff. What font did you use for Diane's "grizzly bear" speech? I've seen it in other works too and I like it!

Sensing some Terry ISH vibes on this one. And Diane's transformations tend to be on the "hot" side. Can't wait to see how this unfolds.
