Melody’s School Days I (Ea)(TG-Empress)

A TG-Empress request for 12Animefan21

It was Friday night and Christian was sitting alone in his bedroom grinding away at Terrarium Guard, a popular fantasy mmo of which he was a top player. As nice as it was to be a top player, the game was quickly becoming boring.

Now Christian could just stop playing video games and go hang out with some friends, but he’s always hated social interactions and preferred sitting behind his computer playing games. His real issue was the games he plays don’t come out with new updates quick enough.

Christian stopped playing and sat back and sighed; he just wanted something interesting and new to do. As he thought that he got an email from the company that makes the mmo he was currently playing.

Christian opened the email and was surprised that it was an invitation to try out the company's new immersive virtual mmorpg. Christian found himself hooked right away and continued reading the email.

The game was supposedly set in a fantasy world called Holjim, and it promised thousands of hours of gameplay, nearly a million quests with tons of faction story lines, tons of loot and equipment and the promise of grand adventures and epic battles.

Christian continued reading and it turned out that this new game was so state-of-the-art that the systems to play on it only exist with the company at the moment, so in order to take part in this beta test, Christian would have to go to a location set up by the company, which was in the email.

Christian immediately confirmed that he’d take part in the beta, and the following day he woke up early and drove four hours to the next state, where the location from the email told him to go. When Christian arrived, he was greeted by a man in a lab coat named Aaron.

The man confirmed Christian’s identity and had him fill out some paperwork, which Christian didn’t read one bit of. After that Christian was led to a pristine room full of futuristic technology, which Christian figured was for playing the game.

Aaron pointed at an egg-shaped capsule in the middle of the room. He told Christian that there was a suit folded up next to it designed to make the player completely immersed in the game; the man then asked Christian to put it on.

Christian nodded and walked over to it and picked it up. He let it unfold itself so he could get a good look at it. Strangely, as he held it in front of himself, he noticed it looked like it was exactly his size, which, while a good thing, left him with an uneasy feeling.

Christian changed into the suit, and it did, in fact, fit perfectly, as if it was made just for him, which he’d have thought was impossible, as the company should have had no idea what size he was, at least he would have thought so.

As Christian was thinking about it, Aaron came over and handed him a headset, telling him to put it on, so Christian took it and decided to brush off the whole suit fitting him perfectly and just try to enjoy the beta test.

Once the headset was on, the man came over and grabbed Christian’s arm and led him over to the capsule. The man opened the capsule and helped Christian get inside of it, once Christian was comfortably inside, the man started attaching things to the headset and suit.

Once everything was hooked up, the man hit a button, closing the capsule and sealing Christian inside. Christian smiled as he prepared to take gaming to a whole new level and as he was about to start an amazing journey into a brand new world.

As Christian waited, the headset turned on and displayed a system note. It said, “For the ultimate immersive experience, we recommend trying a female character.” Christian raised an eyebrow; at first he thought that sounded a bit odd.

Then he remembered how most guys create busty women for their characters anyway, so this was likely because of that. After the system note, more popped up, explaining about why they suggested he play as a female.

Apparently it was about a social experiment that would allow the player to understand the intricacies of identity and relationships. There were a lot of details, which were quite boring and looked just like a long terms and conditions prompt before you start a game, so Christian just skipped it.

Despite that, he did decide to try it out and selected the female option when creating his character. After a bit of customization, the girl who appeared on screen was super cute. She had long purple hair with matching purple eyes.

She was shy-looking, and she had a tiny smile almost hidden on her face. What made her even cuter was the name the system gave her, which was Melody. Christian thought that was super cute and perfect for his soon-to-be female persona.

Christian let out an awkward laugh after thinking that. He was about to actually be her in the game, which was strange, yet he felt oddly satisfied knowing that he’d get to be here, but perhaps that would change once he was in the game; he knew there was only one way to find out.

Christian finalized the customization, which sent a request to Aaron to allow him to dive into the game. Aaron took a deep breath, confirmed the character Christian made, and then allowed Christian to jump into the game.

The screen Christian was looking at flickered, and Christian suddenly felt the sensation of diving coming from the deep dive technology he was wearing. In a matter of seconds, Melody was inside the game.

As her vision came too and the world digitized around him as it loaded, Melody noticed a major problem. Instead of being somewhere like a fantasy forest or on the ocean on a wooden ship, she was instead standing in front of a modern-styled school building.

Melody tilted her head confused, then in the distance she heard the sounds of a bell ringing, as if to indicate it was time for the students to head inside and start learning. Melody almost convinced herself this was just the start of the game, perhaps just a simple test to adjust to full-dive games.

However, when she looked down, that changed. Much like this school was clearly not a fantasy-type setting, her clothes were the same. She had expected to wear cool, perhaps revealing armor, but instead she was wearing a seifuku, the traditional japanese school uniform.

She had the skirt, blouse, sailor-styled collar, and scarf and even the knee-high socks and school shoes. Melody let out a gasp seeing it, then found herself incredibly embarrassed and frozen in place.

It was already super embarrassing to be a girl character, and wearing this outfit didn’t help, but what really made the whole thing so much worse was how realistic everything felt. Melody could feel how the uniform clung to her body and how it swayed as the wind hit it.

Then there was her female body. She wasn’t actually expecting it to feel any different than her male body since this was just a game. However, her increased chest size, lack of manhood and other feminizing changes were all incredibly noticeable.

As Melody sat there frozen and trying to calm her thoughts and all the new sensations she was feeling, another system prompt appeared. Melody snapped out of it and looked at it. Melody hoped it would explain what was going on.

The message read, “Welcome to our virtual harem experiment, Melody! As one of the main heroines, it is your job to play a key role in the protagonist’s journey. Have fun, and collect lots of wonderful memories!”

Melody grabbed her head and started to panic; this was not what she signed up for. She wanted adventures, swordplay, magic, and dragons. Instead, she was dropped into a dating simulation, an anime school game, and a harem game.

Before Melody could fully comprehend and come to terms with what was happening, someone called out to her. Melody turned and looked in the direction the voice came from, and there she saw a very busty blond girl running towards her.

Her uniform swung from side to side with every movement, and her chest bounced around exactly like you’d expect from a game like this. She waved her hand and yelled, “Melody-chan! You’re late for class!”

Melody had no idea who she was, but her best guess was that the blonde girl was one of the other heroines of this game. She had a big smile on her face the whole time she ran towards Melody, and the second she got up to Melody, she hooked her arm through Melody’s and started pulling her.

The blonde girl pulled Melody towards the school. She then looked at Melody and smiled even more as she said, “Come on! You don’t want to get in trouble on your first day!” Melody looked at her confused but nodded along.

As they ran inside together, Melody's heart was racing like crazy. She was trapped inside a game she didn’t know a thing about, inside a body that she felt completely out of place in, and she had no clue how to get out of this game or get out of going to school.

The very worst part of all of this was the role the game assigned to her. It was an impossible role for her; she was supposed to be one of the main heroines, which meant the protagonist's lover, which she wasn’t sure she could do, but at the same time, it might be her only way for her to get out of here and out of this body.

I actually have no idea the answer to this yet, so I'm going to theorize along side you. I think that it wasn't a mistake. I think this is the real game, and that the company wanted to use their top players from the other game to promote it. Perhaps they could have a fun marketing campaign. Something like "Did you lose to a top player in Terrarium Guard? Well guess what, we put them into a virtual world where you, the players, can go around sleeping with them!! A perfect bit of revenge, join now!!!" That would be funny, I think. Again, I have no idea what's coming and I just made this all up. C:

It's going to be a fun ride; that I know for sure. As for the game, there are a lot worse games to get stuck in; SAO showed us that. (Tho, I'd probably jump into that game if I had the chance lol.) Now we wait and see how good Melody is going to be at this game and how long she can keep away from the protagonist.

A very interesting and unusual story. I've seen very few stories with this concept (there are many similar concepts, but very few like this). Of course, it's too early to judge the depth of the plot based on just one story, but I think it will most likely be VERY interesting. I also wonder who made the mistake and at what point that caused Christian to end up in the wrong game. I understand that the corporation most likely planned exactly this, but I can't help but think that it was Christian who entered something incorrectly... or even that no one was to blame and the equipment simply malfunctioned!

Wow, what a great start to the story. I'm already looking forward to seeing how Melody finds her way in this world and what else will happen. Just the idea of being trapped in a virtual world is fascinating but also scary. But I'm eagerly awaiting the next parts of the story.
