The Costume Party: Warhammer 40K (Com)

In the apartment above Alek’s lived a young married couple, Layton and Skyler Dougherty. They were in their late thirties and expecting their first child in only a couple of months. Despite that, they still found time to do the things they liked together.

Like tonight, it was Halloween, and there were parties and meetups going on all over the city, and normally they’d love to dress up and go out, but the number of people would be overwhelming for Skyler so they decided to stay home and work on their next cosplays.

They’ve always been big fans of the game Warhammer 40k, they played together whenever they could. So they decided to make their next cosplays around the game's theme, with Sklyer dressing up as a Sister Of Battle, and Layton was cosplaying an Eldar.

The last time they worked on their costumes they got it all painted so there wasn’t a whole lot they needed to do this time. So they were mostly going to take pictures, which turned out to be really hard for Skyler to do while pregnant and wearing a costume.

So Layton offered to wear her costume for her since they were around the same size anyway, and with the added space she made for the baby in her costume, it wouldn't stretch. She loved that idea and helped him get into her costume.

She teased him a bit, saying he’d make a cute girl. Once Layton was in everything Skyler took some photos and then said she’d put on his costume so he could do the same. Layton asked about the armor piece that covered the stomach.

She said she just wouldn't tie it in the back and it would all work out. Layton was having fun, and as long as she was sure it was safe, he was up for it. So piece after piece he helped his wife get into his armor.

Once everything was on, and the chest piece was sitting loosely over her belly Laytopn took his photos. It was around then they heard one of the kids having a party downstairs call for everyone's attention to show them something.

Layton and Sklyer ignored them, sure they were being loud, but they were young and having fun, and it wasn’t like they did it often, so the two of them wanted the kids to have their fun, but moments later bright light had passed through the floor blinding Layton and Skyler.

When their visions returned they both noticed their bodies felt off. Skyler looked at herself and began to freak out. She didn’t even notice her costume had become real, and was made of real metal, or that her body was muscular and fit.

She was more focused on the fact she was no longer pregnant. She called out to Layton trying to ask him how she suddenly lost a very large baby that was growing inside her, she was freaking out saying over and over again she lost their baby.

Layton slowly turned around while saying the baby wasn't lost. When Layton finished turning around, Skyler placed her hands on her face in shock. Layton fit her costume perfectly and was very visible as a woman.

Skyler looked at Layton's belly and asked if she was now caring for their baby. Layton bright red nodded and said it sure felt like it. Skyler ran over to Layton and rubbed her belly, and when she felt a kick she let out a sigh of relief.

It didn’t matter to her that her former husband was somehow a woman and caring for their baby that was just inside of her, she was just happy to know her baby was still okay. As they were questioning what happened to them, they saw a real-life angel flying out into the sky.

Skyler and Layton ran over to their balcony and looked out as it flew away. Had it been the one to do this to them? Did it think that Layton was meant to be a girl and carry this baby? They had so many questions, but seeing the angel made them feel as though everything was going to be okay.

The two went back to the living room and sat down on the couch, still in their costumes, if they could still be called that. Their outfits had somehow become real at the same time their bodies had changed.

Layton was silent but started to cry a bit. Skyler noticed and scooted in closer to hug her and try to cheer her up. She managed to get Layton to speak about why she was crying, and it was mostly because she was scared.

She didn't know how to be a woman, never mind a mother, her breasts were so large and hurt, she felt fat and ugly, and a whole bunch of other things she didn't quite understand. Skyler just rubbed her head and told her everything was going to be alright.

She pulled Layton's head into her lap and let her cry. After a while, Layton stopped crying and sat there happily with her eyes closed. She was nodding off to sleep, but before she did, she asked Skyler if she would still love her as a woman.

Skyler smiled and told her she’d always love her no matter what. After that, the two fell asleep on the couch as the party downstairs started to die down. When they woke up the next morning they got themselves out of their costumes and stored them in the closet for the convention next week.

The following week was rough for them, Skyler was happy to get a break from caring around a baby and dealing with all the effects that come with it, but she quickly learned all the hoops Layton was jumping through to keep her happy, on top of helping her adjust to being a woman altogether.

Luckily they were still about the same size, so Layton was just wearing all of Skyler’s maternity clothes. However as Layton has pointed out several times, her breasts are several sizes bigger than Skyler’s were, so they ended up having to go shopping for some new bras.

After that, it was mostly just getting into the habit of their new lives, but once the convention came around they got into their costumes and had a great time. They took tons of photos and made everyone jealous of how real their costumes looked and felt.

Of course, they didn't tell them it was real, and that they learned that their transformation had come with a few new abilities, but they weren't really safe to use, especially around so many people, so they kept that to themselves.

After a few days at the convention, they went home and unloaded all the costume stuff and stuff they bought. Once that was done, Layton got back to staying off her feet and Sklyer was back to dotting over her.

A few months later, Layton gave birth to their baby, a boy they named Apollo. The doctors and their families who came to support Sklyer as she gave birth were a bit confused, as suddenly the person giving birth was a strange woman and the father was nowhere to be seen.

Most of them had heard about the event in her town that turned a ton of people into real versions of their costumes, but Skyler completely forgot to mention it, and Layton was too embarrassed to tell anyone.

So it was a shock to be sure, but after explaining it, most of them seemed to understand. They still gave their support and helped the couple in any way possible. Within the week, Layton, Skyler, and Apollo were all in their apartment.

They knew that they also could go out and use their costumes and abilities to become famous or rich, like many of the other people affected by the unknown light, but they had everything they ever wanted.

They were a loving happy couple with a beautiful chubby baby who loved to play with his feet and throw up on everything. So they decided to continue with their lives as if nothing really happened to them.

Skyler went back to working full-time as a nurse, and Layton went back to working part-time from home, she was the head of her company's IT department so most of what she did could be done from home on a secure laptop, anything else her assistant did at the office.

That also allowed her to stay home with Apollo all day, that way she could play with him, feed him, and change him as he needed it. Plus she won't admit it, but she doesn't like being far away from him, having him in her arms just makes her feel so happy.

Nearly a decade later Layton, Skyler, and a ten-year-old Apollo were walking into this year's convention, all wearing new updated Warhammer costumes. Apollo was excited to be at his first convention and kept thanking his moms for bringing him.

They were glad to share something they enjoyed so much with him. They went off to have an amazing weekend. By the time they got home, Apollo was already suggesting costumes for next year. Their world was forever changed, all because of a witch at a costume party they weren't even invited to.
