February 15th, 2019 Bruce was sitting in court waiting for a verdict for the boss of the mob Adelgardo Iacona Aka The Menace. Bruce had been the key witness in the case and had provided damming evidence of many crimes from drugs to murder.

Everyone in the room knew he was guilty, and he should have gone away to prison for the rest of his life, but things fell apart when the jury came back with a verdict of not guilty. Adelgardo Iacona stood up with a wicket smile on his face and walked out of the courthouse with his goons.

As he did, he gave a look to Bruce that let him know he was a dead man. Bruce left the courthouse from the back exit quickly got out of town and contacted the agent he worked with at the FBI asking for some sort of witness protection.

Turns out Adelgardo Iacona had gotten to the agent. The agent laid everything down straight, Adelgardo Iacona had blackmailed the jury by threatening their family which is how he got off scot-free, and he was blackmailing the FBI agent with some insider trading he had done.

So Bruce was on his own, and he knew he couldn't stay in town, in fact, he couldn't stay in any town. Adelgardo Iacona would look for him for as long as both of them were alive. So Bruce packed his essentials and went off the grid.

For over five years he moved around the country, working odd jobs under the table to avoid leaving a paper trail, yet somehow every free month The mob would catch up to him and he’d have to run and start all over again.

Now it was July 10th, 2024 and Bruce had found one final hope to finally be free of the mafia and stop this life of running. It was a small antiques and trinkets shop called The Witches Wonders, and the woman who ran it was who he was looking for.

Thanks to some digging, he learned the store was a front, as the real purpose of the place was for a witch’s lair. The wild witch Adesa, was well known in the magical world for being able to get anything done for the right price.

A friend of the wild witch was actually the one who sent Bruce her way, and even told Bruce what she accepted as payment. It wasn’t easy to get, but a pouch filled with severed eyeballs was enough to convince her to help him.

She closed her shop and took him down to her lair and had him sit on a table. She told him the best way to lose them forever was to use magic to change Bruce’s body, but not in minor ways, it had to be drastic or they’d likely figure out he changed his face.

Bruce asked what she had in mind, and she explained she could do things like change his hair color, make him thinner and shorter, and even change the sound of his voice, but the best thing to do would be to change his DNA at the core.

That would prevent them from using any DNA he leaves behind to match him to his old self. Bruce looked down at the floor, thought about it for a minute, and told Adesa to do it, completely change his DNA, and make him a new person so he could finally be free.

She asked him what features he wanted, and Bruce said it would be nice to have short red hair, green eyes, a deeper voice, and some more muscles to make up for getting slimmer and shorter. Adesa nodded and then told Bruce she’d be putting him to sleep.

She said it was because the process was painful and she didn't want to listen to him scream in agony. He didn't want to trust the witch but he had no other choice, so he let the witch put him to sleep.

It felt like Bruce was asleep for hours maybe even days, at some point, Bruce even felt cold and like she was tied up despite being asleep. Bruce woke up to see two very tall and buff guys laughing and staring at her.

She recognized them instantly. They were two of Adelgardo Iacona's top goons. The tall skinny one was Donato Mendillo aka The Hatchet and the shorter one was Ventura Muscat aka Silence, both of them were mobsters that Bruce tried to get imprisoned.

Bruce tried to talk to them and that's when she realized her mouth was being held open with something. She kept trying to talk, but mumbled words came out and she began to drool all over herself.

That's when the mobsters noticed she was awake and came over to talk to her. Donato caressed Bruce’s face and welcomed her to their black site. Then Ventura scolds her for giving them such a hard time for the past five years.
