Forever tied: The Battle With The Whilg Army (Com)

As the other teams began their travels to the castle and church, Edracia, Pefsa, Liwet, and the princess army began their assault on the massive whilg monster army. “Alright girls, let’s do this!” Pefsa said as she ran towards the battle.

“Don’t just run off on your own!” Liwet said as she started to cast her magic. She created several holy barriers. A small one around Pesfa, and a large one around the princess army who were setting up siege weapons and creating a blockade to prevent monsters from leaving the area.

“Alright, Edracia, you and the main army are protected, go ahead and start summoning.” “Great, in just a minute we’ll have a second smaller army to send out.” LIwet nodded and remained in the air above everyone holding the shields up.

Pefsa was still running around, she was quick, and paired with the shield from Liwet the Whilg monsters couldn’t hit her. She was using her powers to remove the souls of the humans that the monsters took over.

“I’m sorry that this happened to you, but there’s nothing we can do to save your bodies, please go to the shield area and we’ll send your souls to the afterlife after battle.” Each spirit would nod and follow her instructions.

It was around this time that Edracia managed to summon every last body she had collected since she gained her powers. “Alright, here they come.” Crawling out of the ground a couple hundred humanoid bodies started to appear.

From elves, humans even orcs and giants, some had decaying skin, and others were completely skeletal, several still had their armor and weapons from when they were alive and went right to using them against the whilg monsters, the others just ran at them swinging their fists.

Along with them, there were a ton of animals that appeared. Birds came flying out of the ground, they would fly around quickly and die into monsters. Snakes slithered out and would wrap around monsters and restrain them for Pefsa to remove their souls.

There were even cows, wolves, and more. In the end, there were nearly two thousand remaining corpses running around helping and protecting Pefsa as she ran around. The army had now finished preparing the Ballista and began to fire on the army. 

They were trying to take out the big monster that had up until now been throwing rocks at the main army. They pierced its body with several Ballista bolts. “We got the bastard captain!” Edracia looked at the monster and saw it begin to move. 

It reached up and pulled one of the bolts out of its flesh. It then went to throw it. “Everyone move back, it’s going to throw the ballista bolt back.” Liwet hearing that flew down as quickly as she could. She raised her hands and placed them against the inside of the shield.

“I’ll reinforce the shield for impact get back.” Edracia nodded and got everyone back. That’s when the big monster threw the bolt, as it left its hand though, it had been enchanted with the same darkness that corrupted the army.

A voice appeared in Edracia’s head. “The angel… will... Die… If you... Don’t do something…” “Liwet… Liwet will die?” “Yes…” “Can’t I do anything?” “Embrace… my... power..” “Your power? Wait… are you Necrom?”

“Embrace.. My power… save your… friend..” Edracia looked over at Liwet who was pouring her power into the shield. “Fine I accept your power, help me save her.” Suddenly Edracia burst with power, her body started to glow.

She suddenly had access to all the bodies in the realm of Nercom, all the ones that Nercom herself had collected before she met her end. Nearly a hundred thousand created bodies started to crawl out of the ground.

These ones were much more powerful than the ones she created, as they still had souls attached to them, fueling them. The ballista bolt was about to hit the shield and Liwet and Edracia lifted her hands and nearly a thousand of her new corpses merged together becoming one big monster.

It caught the bolt and tossed it towards the side. Liwet noticed it and stopped reinforcing the shield. “Where did that come from?” She looked up at it. “Necromancy was involved, but it has a ton of souls mashed together, and they were in pain. Edracia would never…”

She turned towards Edracia and noticed her change. “She did, why would she?” Edracia looked back at her and smiled, but Liwet saw tiers going down her face. “She’s crying…” Liwet looked back at the bolt on the ground.

“It was enchanted with that darkness... It would have broken my barrier and killed me... Edracia protected me…” She looked down at the ground. “She broke her code to protect me, and here I am only protecting people when I could be fighting.”

Liwet looked up and prepared herself. “If the ones I love are giving everything they have, I will as well, no matter the cost.” Liwet flew out of the shield past, Pefsa and all of Edracia's summons, and made her way to the center of the battlefield.

She waved her hand and hundreds of light blasts shot down onto the monsters below. All that did though was scattered them. “Dammit, the darkness powering them is too strong... I suppose I have no choice.”

Liwet connected to several monsters and stopped their hearts. This didn’t kill them but it caused their bodies to stop moving and for them to sit on the ground writhing in pain. The monsters would eventually recover in a way that didn’t need hearts, and Liwet would destroy another part of them.

Each time she did so, one of the feathers in her wing would become darker until it was completely black. Despite both Edracia and Liwet's sacrifices, the Whilgs continued to be created and revived, even without several body parts and souls.

Pefsa still on the ground trying to save souls finally got overwhelmed and had to retreat back to the main shield. On her way there she saw all the spirits she had saved standing together watching the battle in horror.

When she got back to the shield one of them came running up to her. “Huff.. Huff, sorry I know you guys want to move on to the next world, but I can’t do it yet, I’m too busy. You’ll be safe as long as you stay in the shield.”

The spirit nodded his head. “We don’t care about that. We want to help… Is there any way we can?” Pefsa looked surprised. “There is, but it would mean being bound to me, and it’ll likely end with your souls being destroyed.”

The spirit looked back at his fellow spirits, then back at Pefsa. “If we do nothing, everyone fighting for us will die, and we’ll be stuck as spirits here anyway, plus all those still suffering will continue to suffer right?”

Pefsa nodded. Suddenly all the spirits she had saved up to this point knelt down in front of her. “We pledge our souls to you Shaman, in exchange please help us save our kingdom for the loved ones we leave behind.”

 Pefsa placed her staff down and connected to all the souls. She used her power to make it so they were corporeal, she then used her power to conjure weapons, the cost of which was several of the souls.

“Thank you all for this… Now Let’s march into the greatest battle of your afterlife!” The spirits cheered and charged out of the shield.” Now the battlefield was filled with the bodies of the deceased from ages past and the souls from the very bodies they were currently fighting.

Pefsa, Liwet, and Edracia are now at full power unintentionally gathered together in the center. Liwet was using her powers to rip the monsters to shreds as they got close to them, and as they regenerated, Pefsa ripped their souls out and consumed their souls to add them to the spirit army.

After that Edracia would use her power to claim the bodies and reshape them. She’s even mixed the bodies with others to create more powerful monsters, Like a whilg solder and a bird to give them wings and razor-sharp talons.

She even created a dragon, made of pure bones, but it wasn’t all that effective until Liwet and Pefsa added their powers. Pefsa filled the dragon bones with souls and Liwet climbed onto it and helped it fly around with her magic.

The three had never fought all out before, so the longer the battle went on the more they learned how to use their powers in new ways. Pefsa learned she could rip the souls out of a monster and replace it with one she controlled so she could control that monster.

She quickly turned several Whilg soldiers against the main army. Of course that still gave her an extra soul, so she would use it to power up her new monsters. As Liwet’s feathers continued to darken her holy magic became less powerful, but she gained several new powers.

Mainly in the form of unholy fire. It was effective at fighting the Whilgs. It caused their flesh to melt beyond repair, so they couldn’t regenerate, but it also destroyed the souls inside, Liwet chose not to focus on that since there were so many of them, and more coming every second.

Liwet, Pefsa, and Edracia looked at each other. They immediately avoided eye contact as each of them was a bit ashamed of what they had to do to protect the others and help win this battle, but they knew they had to push past it and continue, at least until the other teams got rid of the darkness.
