Forever Tied: Prologue To Battle (Com)

A commission for last_of_workers!

Princess Adelia, Swetyne, and their army made it to the entrance to the mad king's kingdom. They were expecting them to be waiting with their army, but what they weren't expecting was the condition the army was in.

Each soldier in the army had been turned into a whilg-type monster, and they even had an amalgamation of people that was nearly fifty feet tall. They were clearly strong and they needed a plan, so Adelia turned towards her generals to strategize.

Liwet said she could feel a strong darkness connected to the soldiers and it seemed to be coming from two different places. The first was the main church of Helios, and the second felt as though it was coming from the castle.

So something was corrupting the soldiers and turning them into monsters. Adelia asked Liwet if they could be saved if they destroyed the sources of the darkness. Liwet nodded, she said it would merely stop more of them from being created, not revert them to normal.

Pefsa chimed in saying they couldn't leave them like that as she could hear thousands of souls calling out for help. Swetyne asked Edracia if she could manipulate the bodies back to normal, but she said that didn’t work unless they were a part of her collection.

Once a body was claimed by her it was bound to her realm and her for the rest of time, and if a soul is attached when she does that, it’s also bound, which is basically like torture for that soul, so it wasn’t an option.

Adelia looked sad when she realized that they couldn’t save all those people, but Pefsa, Liwet, and Edracia assured her with their abilities they could save their souls, send them off to a happy afterlife, cleanse the bodies, and bury them.

That was their best hope, but it would be all for nothing if the darkness kept creating them, or even corrupted the bodies again, so the rest of them would need to destroy the sources of darkness before they get overwhelmed.

Swetyne agreed and said it would be better to split into three groups, one consisting of the deities that would distract the main army and reduce their numbers, one to take on the church, and another to take on the mad king.

Rargy uses her connection with Bistro and makes her volunteer to take on the mad king. She told Bistro to go get revenge on that bastard for everything he did to her, she had no choice but to agree, although she didn’t know why it was so important.

Blistro then asked Rargy if she was going to come with her. Rargy told her she wanted to, but she had to go take on the church and make sure they were defeated or she’d never live in peace, but just because she wasn’t there physically didn’t mean she wouldn’t be there mentally.

Loren and Vellith also decided to split up. They were thinking more strategically which as former assassins they were pretty good at. Vellith being a mage, decided to join Rargy taking on the church since the other team had Bistro who is also a mage.

Loren did the same, since she was a powerful monster like Rargy she decided to join Bistro taking on the mad king to help balance that team out. Now it was time for the princess and her protector and wife to decide which team they were joining.

Swetune held Adelia in her arms. They talked for a bit and Adelia wanted to take on the church since they were the ones who tried to kill her because of her work. She believed that once they were gone the world would flourish.

That left Swetyne taking on the mad king, which she was more than happy to do. To her, he was a threat to everything she cared about, her kingdom, her people, and most importantly her wife, and she’d never let him hurt them.

They kissed each other before saying their goodbyes and the teams taking on the church and mad king started to sneak around as they made their way to their targets, all while the team of deities prepared for the first battle of their lives where they’d have to use their full power. The Mad War has begun.
