Transformed into Mythra at the beach (3.5k watcher special)

The 3.5k watcher Deviantart raffle winner secret9000's idea!

It was summertime, and for the last few months, Dillion and his friends had been planning the best beach trip of their lives. They had an amazing place picked out and were excited to go, and they wanted Dillon to join them.

The problem was, Dillion hated the beach, and he really didn’t want to go. It was mostly because he hated being outside in the sun. It was so bright he could barely keep his eyes open. Even with sunglasses on.

Not to mention how hot it was, with its rays beaming down. It always turned him into a hot, sweaty mess, and Dillon hated the smell of sweat. It also meant he had to apply sunblock every hour, or else he’d get bad sunburns.

Somehow, every time he’s gone to the beach or been out in the sun for long and applied sunblock like crazy, he still ends up with a sunburn somewhere on his body. It was just so awful, yet, Dillon liked his friends and really did want to spend summer with them.

So over the course of the months leading up to summer, his friends managed to convince him to join them, and he found himself standing on a beach the same day summer vacation officially started. The group arrives at the beach and starts pulling everything from the car.

Dillion starts by covering himself in sunblock, then putting his long-sleeved UV-protection swim shirt on. Then he grabs a beach towel and the umbrella they had packed. Dillion takes them down to the beach and picks a spot ten feet from the highest point the water was reaching.

He laid his towel out on the ground, then took the umbrella and pushed it into the ground behind the towel until it was securely in place. Dillion then took a few stakes and pinned the strings attached to the umbrella into the ground, giving it more stability.

His friends came down carrying other stuff and started to set up next to him, and not long afterward, they had their own small camp on the beach. Once they were done, Dillion took a deep breath and went to sit on his towel under the umbrella.

As soon as he sat down, his friends came over and asked him if he was already giving up for the day. They then asked him to come hang out with them and play some games. Dillion told him it was okay; they didn’t need to include him, and he was okay just sitting here.

One by one, Dillion’s friends came over and tried to convince him to let loose and have fun, but one after another, they all failed. After some time, they gave up and left him alone, and they started to have fun without him.

Dillion had very little to do under the umbrella, as his phone was too dark to see outside, not that he had service on the beach, and he didn’t want to bring his Switch down here and risk getting sand or water in it, so Dillion just watched his friends.

As he did, he started to feel bad. They looked like they were having a lot of fun, and it felt sort of bad being the only one not having fun and being left out, even though he knew it was his own choice to be left out.

It was his fault for coming; he knew he hated the sun, and perhaps he should have just told his friends about that in the beginning, and they might have come up with a different vacation idea, but no, he didn’t say anything, and now here he was being a total bummer.

Dillion decided he should probably just go home. So he walked up the beach and towards the road to see if he could get a signal on his phone; that way he could use a rideshare to get a ride back home.

It seemed like the best option for everyone, since he was sure he couldn't possibly have a good time while here, and he really didn’t want to mope under the umbrella, making his friends feel bad the entire vacation.

So sneaking off without saying anything seemed like the best and only option he had. Before he could get away from his umbrella, one of his friends threw a foam football in his direction, and another of his friends was running to try and catch it.

That caused a collision between Dillon and the friend trying to catch the ball. Dillion got pushed back and ended up tripping on something and falling backward. He knocked over his umbrella and landed on top of it.

The next thing Dillion knew, he was being blinded by an intense light. He tried to call his friends for help, but he couldn’t speak. He also tried to move, or at the very least turn his head away from what he thought was the sun, but he couldn’t move either.

In fact, he couldn’t even feel his body. It was almost like he became one with the light. At least that’s what it felt like for a solid minute while it was happening. After a minute, Dillion’s vision started to come back to her, along with the feeling in her body.

She sat up and started to scold her friend for being so careless and nearly killing her. Halfway through her scolding, she stopped, though, as she realized her voice sounded very different than it had moments ago.

Dillion started to rub her throat as she was worried she had damaged it in the fall, or perhaps that somehow her arch enemy the sun was responsible somehow. Nothing seemed wrong with it, other than perhaps being a little hoarse.

Dillion looked at her friends, who had all gathered around her, and looked surprised, but none of them were saying anything. She asked them what was wrong, and what they were staring at. They looked at each other and continued to remain silent.

The friend who had knocked her over finally spoke up and blurted out that Dillion had somehow become a blonde woman. Dillion tilted her head and, unamused, then told her friend to stop being an idiot.

She then put her hands on her chest to prove she wasn’t a girl. However, she found her chest wasn't as flat as it had always been. Dillion looked down and couldn't believe her chest had gotten bigger.

Dillion jumped up out in a panic, her now long blonde hair hitting her back, and her chest becoming more noticeable as it moved around. Embarrassed, Dillion grabbed her towel and covered herself with it. Dillion then started to freak out about suddenly turning into a girl.

On top of that, she wasn't super thrilled about being in a girls swimsuit now, instead of the long-sleeved shirt and shorts she had on before. Her friends awkwardly stood around her, not knowing what to do.

Some started to pick up what got knocked over, including Dillion’s umbrellas, while the rest just watched Dillion, unable to keep their eyes off of her, because of what they just witnessed happen to her. Once everyone settled down, Dillon’s friends started to ask questions.

Things like, How does it feel? which she was honest about and said it felt normal, perhaps even better than her old one. At least it was more in shape than her old one. They then asked if she was okay, like mentally, which she felt should have been the first question.

She told them she was a bit worried about it, as she had no idea how this was possible, how it happened, or if she could turn back. As she was answering her friend's questions, she noticed one was very silent and just staring at her, so she asked him what was up.

He said it was strange, but he swore Dillion looked just like Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. He then pulled out his phone and took a picture of Dillon; that way, he could show her what she looked like now.

He was right; she did look just like Mythra. Seeing this actually made Dillion smile a bit and feel happy inside. Mythra was one of, if not her favorite video game characters, and if she had to choose a girl to get transformed into, it would be her.

Dillion continued to smile as she looked at the photo, and even though she didn’t say anything, her friends noticed. They were surprised, but since they weren't sure how to turn her back, if she found some reason to be happy about it, they were happy for her.

They decided to continue their beach trip and figure out the rest that comes with Dillon turning into a girl later. Most of Dillon’s friends went back to playing on the beach, making sure to not knock each other over in fear of also turning into girls.

Dillion handed the phone back to her friend and asked him to send her that picture later. She then looked up at the sun, and for the first time in her life, she didn’t hate it; in fact, she felt herself drawn to it.

Her skin didn’t feel like it was on fire, and she wasn’t sweating. Instead, it felt welcoming and warming, like a nice hug. Everything she hated about it felt like it was gone, like it was irrelevant now. It felt like she could truly enjoy being in the sun, and living life.

Dillion smiled and ran out onto the beach and stole the ball from one of her friends who was about to catch it; she then tossed it away to the next person. She then spent the rest of the day playing and having fun with her friends.

Everyone had an awesome time, and once the trip was over, they began to plan another for next year as well, and this time Dillon was on board from the start. As they drove back home, Dillion stared out the window, wondering what life looking like Mythra would be like for her until then.

good story although compared to your other stories it seems a little short. and the reason for the transformation is not entirely clear... it’s just that the sunlight here was more likely not a reason, but rather a kind of activator, but the reason is not clear to me... but overall I liked it
