It was a bright sunny day in the kingdom of Slineian. The ruler of this kingdom, Queen Asuna, was taking a nice long stroll through the garden with her two daughters. Princess Nadine and her slightly younger sister Melody.

Asuna’s daughters were happily running in front of her checking out all the pretty new flowers that the gardeners had planted since the last time they were here. Asuna couldn’t help but enjoy how cute her daughters were.

Both of them were elegant in their long dresses, Nadine with her red and black dress, and Melody with her purple and gold one. Since it was a very nice day, and Asuna thought her kids looked amazing, she decided to stop and have them pose for a photo.

Nadine and Melody were more than happy to take a photo. They got up close to each other, looked toward the camera, and smiled. Asuna took the photo and looked down at it, very pleased with the result.

Life was so vastly different now that she had two daughters, and as each day passed, she barely remembered the fact that exactly a year ago she only had one daughter. Nearly twenty years ago Asuna had given birth to her first and technically only daughter.

A cute baby girl with white hair who looked exactly like her mother Asuna. She was named Nadine and from that day she was a princess and future queen. Asuna and the entire kingdom were happy that Nadine had come into the world.

As happy as that day was for Asuna, it came with very sad news. Nadine would be the only child Asuna’s body would bear. Due to complications, she lost her ability to carry another child and even magic didn’t seem capable of fixing it.

It did disappoint her, as she had always dreamed of having a few kids, but she accepted this and put all her love into her only daughter. Asuna thought that would be enough, but as Nadine grew older, Asuna noticed how lonely she seemed.

Especially at events when all the village kids played around, or when siblings were walking the markets with their parents. It was clear she yearned for a sibling to play with, to make memories, and most importantly love.

Asuna became determined to find a way to make that come true, and after consulting her court wizard and expert on magical artifacts Hope, they were eventually able to procure a legendary artifact capable of making it come true.

Hope had found the Orb of Somnia which could fulfill one wish per generation. Using it Asuna could make it so she could have another child, but again there was one problem. It had been twenty years since Nadine was born.

Asuna was getting older which meant having another baby would be quite taxing on her body, and she was sure that the age difference between Nadine and her new sibling would be too much, and she wouldn’t get the relationship she desired.

Luckily there was a solution to that. Use the orb to change reality, and make someone who already exists into her second daughter. That then brought another problem, who to use the orb on. Asuna was reluctant to use it on anyone she employed, as she cared for them as well.

The best answer would be someone from outside the castle. Someone who’s of low station, with no title, and that barely anyone knows. Basically, it had to be someone no one would notice if they were gone, not that anyone would once the orb is used.

Asuna spent weeks looking over different files about people in her kingdom looking for the perfect person when somehow fate decided to have the perfect person walk right into the throne room. A young man with purple hair and a big smile had arrived to make a delivery.

He was here to deliver a dress that Nadine had requested from the local tailor. Asuna watched the man and strangely found herself drawn to him. After he presented the dress to Nadine, Asuna had him stand before her.

As his queen, he obeyed her command imminently and without question. Asuna then asked him his name. The man revealed his name was Christian. Asuna thanked him for telling her, then picked up the papers she had been going over.

She found the paper that had his info on it and went over it. He was slightly younger than Nadine, which would mean if turned, he’d like similar things as Nadine. He didn’t seem to have family, so that meant no title or land.

Finally, his job was as a delivery driver for the local business in the kingdom, which could be done by almost anyone. Asuna smiled, he was perfect. Christian was the one, the one who would become her new daughter.

Asuna requested Hope to grab the orb and prepare it, and Hope did so with haste and excitement. Christian waited as they did this, having no idea what it was they were doing. Sometime later, Asuna was holding the orb and making a wish with it.

One moment Christian the simple delivery guy was standing there and the next Melody the beautiful second princess of Slineian stood there in a beautiful purple dress, inch high heels, and with a tiara on her head.

Melody looked down at herself and seemed quite confused, that was until Nadine came back into the room wearing the dress Melody had brought for her. Nadine ran right up to Melody and hugged her sister, thanking her several times for the beautiful dress.

Melody smiled and hugged her back, then took a good look at her in the dress before telling her how amazing she looked in it. The two then began to mess around with their dresses while they talked. Asuna watched both of them from her throne, quite satisfied that her plan worked.

Nadine finally had her sister, and Asuna could already tell she was loads happier because of it. Even Melody seemed quite happy, but perhaps that was because Asuna used her wish to make it so Melody had always been around.

So Nadine, Melody, and everyone else have a new full set of memories to include Melody. That was so no one would question Melody suddenly being a princess, and to make life easier on Melody by removing the need for her to adjust to life as a princess.

After playing with their dresses, Nadine and Melody went off to have tea together. Asuna smiled and felt genuinely happy for her daughter… For her daughters. She looked down at the orb and noticed it was no longer glowing.

Since it had been used it wouldn’t be usable for another hundred years. Asuna gave the orb to Hope and told her to store it in a safe place. Asuna then got up and went to join her children at their tea party.

From there Asuna has watched her children every day, growing into beautiful and smart women. The castle was now filled with happy laughter from the girls each day instead of the sad silence that used to be in its place.

Nadine and Melody spent nearly every minute of the day together, doing everything you’d expect sisters to do together. Things like picking out dresses, doing hair and makeup, and of course tons upon tons of tea parties and balls.

Each day felt so much brighter so much fuller with Melody around, and time flew by. Before anyone knew it, a year had passed since Asuna used the orb to bring her second daughter into the world. That also meant it was Melody’s birthday.

So as a special treat, Asuna decided to put off all her queenly duties and spend the day with her amazing children, doing what Melody wanted. Which currently had been running around the garden in the new dress she got this morning.

After taking the picture so that she could treasure this moment forever, she told her daughters how much she loved them and how happy they made her. They each blushed and told their mother they loved her as well and then they all hugged.

After the hug, Asuna put her finger on her chin and said there was something they were supposed to do today but she couldn’t remember what it was. Nadine caught on and joined in, acting confused about what today was.

Melody pouted a bit and asked if they didn’t remember. Asuna and Nadine continued to play dumb just to tease Melody a bit, but after a minute they both shouted Happy Birthday to Melody and started singing to her.

Melody was so happy that she nearly burst into tears, but those tears were nowhere to be seen seconds later when Asuna mentioned a massive birthday cake waiting for her back at the castle. As soon as she heard that, Melody started running back to the castle.

Nadine quickly ran after her because she knows full well how her sister is when it comes to sweets, and if no one stops Melody she’ll eat the whole thing herself. Asuna laughs as she watches her daughters running away as fast as they can in heels. Asuna follows behind them deep in thought.

Not one moment since she made the wish had she regretted it, and not a day will come that she will. Her life is so much better, Nadine’s life is so much better, and most importantly Melody’s life is so much better now if she had the chance to go back and do it again. She’d welcome her amazing daughter Melody into the world every time.
