TG Note: Soichiro Yagami (Ea)

Light was sitting at his desk looking out the window. His teacher was talking but it wasn’t anything he didn’t already know. So he just sat there looking out the window hoping something interesting would happen.

Normally nothing ever did at school, but today was different, by the will of the gods, a notebook came falling out of the sky. Light noticed it right away, and couldn't figure out where it had come from.

It was also sort of strange. It was bright pink, and something about it felt as though it was calling him. He watched as it fell down to the ground and landed in a bush. It had become quite hidden, which was good.

That meant he could go find it after class. Once class ended he was the first person to run out. He ran down several flights of stairs and out the door to the courtyard. He found the bush and started shaking it until the notebook fell down.

Light picked it up and looked at it. The cover said “TG Note”, Light was confused as he had no idea what those letters stood for. Perhaps it was someone's initials. Light opened up the notebook and found all the pages were empty.

He figured it must have been a new notebook, but as he was flipping back, he found the back side of the cover had some writing on it. Light looked at it, and at first glance, it was a list of rules.

The first rule, “The human whose name is written in this note shall change genders. Each person can only be changed once.” Light laughed, what nonsense was this? Writing a name in the book changes someone's gender? As if.

He continued to the second rule. “This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing their name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.”

That rule actually made sense, as there were plenty of people who shared a name. He went on to the third rule. “If the desired changes of the TG are written in the next forty seconds of writing the person’s name, it will happen.”

Light thought about that one. Did that mean not only could he supposedly change someone's gender with this notebook, but he could even pick out how they looked? He also wondered what the limits of that were, as it wasn’t clear.

Light went onto the final rule. “If the desired changes of the TG are not specified, the person will simply turn into an exact female version of themselves. After writing the desired changes, any details about how the changes occur should be written within the next six minutes and forty seconds.”

Light was very confused about the notebook. What was its purpose? Is it simply a gag? Or some sort of person's fetish so they could write fan fiction or something? Light wasn’t sure. He was going to throw it away, but when he tried, he couldn't let go of it.

It was ridiculous, there was no way it was real, so why was he hesitating? Did he really have to try it out just to prove what was obvious? Sure it didn’t hurt to try it, but if such a thing were real it would have been widely used right?

Well, Light convinced himself to keep the notebook and try it at home. He made sure no one was watching and slipped it into his bag. He finished the rest of the school day and ran all the way home, and then to his room.

He pulled the TG Note out, placed it on his desk, and started to think. The notebook claims to be able to change anyone's gender, so whose name should he write down? If somehow it works, they’ll forever be the opposite gender.

Obviously, he wasn't going to use it on himself, so why risk it after all, but he also needed someone close by that way he could see if the changes actually happened. He thought about who to test it on, and that’s when he heard his dad come home.

Light smiled and wrote his father's name “Soichiro Yagami” on the first line of the first page. Light then thought about it, if his father noticed the changes it could be a problem, assuming it actually works.

So Light wrote, “Reality changes to match, and only Light Yagami knows about the changes.” After his father's name. All there was to do now was wait for the time to pass and see if it happened. Light ran downstairs and greeted his father.

Light watched the clock closely, and the second forty seconds had gone by he looked at his dad, well he would have if his dad was still there. Instead, an unfamiliar woman stood in place of where his dad had been.

She wore a similar suit to his dad, had short black hair that was graying like him, and was even wearing his glasses. Light was both shocked and amazed, his dad was now what? His second mom?

Light wanted to make sure he wasn’t going crazy. So he called out to his mom. Both the mother he was used to and this new woman answered him. Light was surprised and then addressed the woman in front of him.

He called her mom and asked her a few questions about how she was feeling. Not once did Light get the hint that she knew anything was off. After a few more questions Light excused himself and went back to his room.

He looked at the book and an evil smile crossed his face. This book was a tad strange but it was clear it was very powerful. It was capable of changing people's gender and at least altering reality.

Now that he has it, what should he do with it? If there’s no limit to the power of the book, he could do anything if he worded it correctly. He could make himself rich, powerful, or even a god if he worded it correctly.

Suddenly a voice came from behind him and said that was very true. Light turned around and was freaked out when he saw someone floating in his room. Light couldn't tell if they were male or female, but they had short fiery hair, yellow glowing eyes, and scars all over.

Light asked who they were, and they simply flew around Light seemingly inspecting him. Once he finished he said that Light could refer to him as Konton, and that he was a simple god and owner of the notebook.

Light grabbed the book and looked towards Konton. Light figured he was here to reclaim his notebook, but Light didn’t want to give it up. He had to figure out how to get rid of him. Konton looked at Light holding the notebook tight and laughed.

He told Light not to worry, he wasn't going to take the book from him. In fact, he dropped it so someone like Light would find it and use it. He was merely here now to watch what Light does with it.

Light didn’t fully believe him, and he surely didn’t trust him, but for now, he was going to let Light keep the notebook and use it how he pleased, seeing as Light had no idea how to rid himself of the god, he had no choice but to be watched.

Light turned back towards his desk, sat down with the notebook, and kept pondering ways of how to use it. As he was thinking, he decided to turn on his mini-tv and watch the news. That’s when he noticed a story about a murderer who had been caught.

Because of something in the investigation, he was getting off scot-free, which made a lot of people mad. Light knew right then and there, that he could be the one to punish that guy, he could punish many bad people. He could become this world's real god. Light took out his pencil and started to write.

Comments

This is a new series, one where I'll be using more than just death note characters, perhaps some based on real people who knows C:

Riley

Oooh this is really very cool! ... Although I haven't watched the Death Note anime, I'm generally familiar enough with it to understand how potentially cool this story is! So I really hope that you will not stay on one story and continue to write this series of stories! And yes, I’m very interested in what the other gods will be like and, most importantly, what “L” will be like?
