It’s been a few months since attending a video game convention led to me ending up in an alternate world set in the Super Mario world as its one and only Princess Peach Toadstool, and ever since I escaped from Bowser I've been busy.
I got right to work turning my puny excuse of an army into the most seasoned and skilled warriors. I had an outpost built around my kingdom and used my unique knowledge of the world to build amazing traps so that if any enemies tried to enter, they’d be obliterated.
This has caused quite a bit of trouble for Bowser, who has tried several times to get into the kingdom and kidnap her again, only to be blown out of the sky. He then basically declared war on the Mushroom kingdom.
Of course, it really wasn't a war, more of a sad attempt at one. Bowser's army was constantly taking heavy casualties, while I hadn’t lost a single soldier, never mind an outpost. After a month of letting him wipe his own army out, I stopped playing defense and went on the offense.
My armies marched, taking outposts, forts, and castles in each world all the way up to world eight. We then stood on the very bridge I had once walked across while giant and we faced Bowser's castle.
There was an army of Toads armed with various power-ups behind me, each riding their own Yoshi. Next to me was Mario, no longer my hero, but a champion of the mushroom kingdom, and finally my tactician Toadsworth.
I raised my hand and swung it down, ordering the army to attack. I’d say it was a bloodbath, but I’m in a Mario world, so it was more like a thousand toddles in a bounce house. The real fight was when King Koopa came out.
It was a bit tough, but Mario was already a pro at beating him, and with me also fighting, Victory was all but assured. When we beat Bowser I had him chained up and brought back to the Mushroom Kingdom as a prisoner.
Mario was a little concerned about that, but I had to make sure Bowser would never be a threat again. Bowser spent a few days in the dungeon while I came up with a plan. I had to contact someone with magic to help me curse a certain power-up.
Once I had it, I had Bowser brought to the throne room and chained to the floor. Then in front of all the toads and Mario, I pulled out a Super Crown. Now no one in this world knew what I was about to do, but many from my original world likely knew what I was about to do with it.
I walked down the steps of my throne and approached Bowser. He was pissed, his arms chained behind his back, he had a muzzle on, and was trying to break free. I took the Super crown and placed it on his head.
I watched as the almighty Koopa king shrunk down and changed shape until his or should I say her form closely resembled my own. A busty blonde with horns, a turtle shell, and a long tail now stood in front of me in a long poofy black dress.
Due to getting smaller the chains and muzzle that Bowsette had on easier fell off. She then immediately went right to try to rip the Super Crown off, but that’s when she discovered it wouldn't come off, even if she got hurt.
See, I had it cursed so that once it was placed on her head, it became permanent and could never be removed. After figuring out that she began to freak out and breathe fire all around her, my toad knights were about to apprehend her when a strange light came shining down on her.
Bowsette stopped breathing fire, she also stopped moving and just looked up. It was so strange. What was even stranger was I was the only one who seemed to notice it, I had to order the toads to not approach her so they wouldn't potentially get hurt.
Everyone sat there confused at what I was so worried about all while the one furious Bowsette sat there quiet and unmoving. The light continued to shine down on her as if it were filling her. Then the light stopped.
Almost immediately Bowsette started to move, but her first movement was to fall to the ground and scream. She had her hands up as if she was trying to keep something from falling onto her. It took her a minute to figure out nothing was happening to her.
She then stood up and looked around. She then seemed very confused and asked how she got there. I asked her what she was talking about, then she said something I didn’t expect. She said she had been inside the convention a second ago when a wall fell on her.
I realized then what was going on. She was just like me, she was from the convention when that disaster struck, she was a real person from my world, and as far as I knew, she and I were the only ones.
I imminently dismissed everyone, Mario tried to stay, but I literally kicked him out the door. I then slowly broke the news to her, starting with how this was a real version of the Super Mario world and that even though I wasn’t originally Princess Peach, I am now a real Princess Peach.
She seemed excited at first and asked who she was while looking at herself. She seemed a bit disturbed by that. As it turned out she was a guy beforehand as well, so suddenly finding yourself in the body of a girl is quite strange.
She shrugged it off and said she’d just remove the Super Crown. Then she tried, but unfortunately, I had made sure it would never come off. I then had to explain what was going on, and why she’d now be stuck in her current body for as long as we were in this world.
After watching the dread come over her face, and then doing my best to comfort her, I took her for a walk throughout the Mushroom Kingdom to show her a bit of how cool this world can be. Once we ended up in the garden, we started to talk about how we got there.
I didn’t have an answer and neither did she. All we know is both of us were in the range of the explosion, heard the strange humming, and happened to be next to a Nintendo console with a Mario game inside it.
That’s all we know. We don't know the cause of the explosion at the convention or how we got transported to a video game world, hell we don’t even know why I got here months ago, and Bowsette just got here.
Nothing made a whole lot of sense, but one thing was now clear to me. I wasn’t alone, there was a whole room of people playing Nintendo games when I was transported here, including Bowsette, so it’s likely there are more people here in our world.
There might even be more people trapped in other worlds based on different games or from different consoles. I don’t know how, where, or even when I’ll come across another person from my original world, but when it happens I’ll make sure to take care of them like I’m going to do with Bowsette.
I took Bowsette back to the castle and gathered the majority of the toads so I could make an announcement. I told them all the war with Bowsette was over, and that our kingdoms were now at peace.
I then made a show about shaking hands with Bowsette and just told her to play along. She did so, although she was a bit awkward about it. We then spent the next month rebuilding her kingdom, tending to her injured minions, and most importantly helping her adjust.
Once we did all that. Bowsette was more than happy to sit upon her throne and be queen, mostly because it was fun to have people showering her with attention and taking care of her every need. As glad as I was at how well she adjusted, and that we had peace between our kingdoms, I’m still hoping we’ll soon find a way to get back home before too many of us get stuck here.
