Altering The Melody Of Reality For Love (TG-Empress)

Christian has had a crush on Nadine ever since he met her in kindergarten, and now that they’re grown his feelings for her have only developed and grown, so much so he wanted to confess his love for her.

The problem was he was shy and wasn't even sure if he actually had a chance with her. He’d never seen the guys she dated, so he had no idea how he compared, or if he was even her type and straight-up asking would be too awkward.

They are friends, but not like best friends, more like they have the same circle of friends that all hang out together. So what he needed was a way to get close to her and find out, without her finding out it was him.

In his search for a way to do so, he met with a sketchy person who gave him what he claimed was a magic spell. He told Christian that it changed reality in a way that would allow him to get closer to Nadine and figure out if he’d have a chance with her.

He also said it lasted forty-eight hours and warned Christian not to kiss anyone. He said that could cause the changes to reality to become permanent and leave him trapped with no way to get back to his current reality.

Christian was a bit skeptical, a spell that actually changed reality and it was thwarted by a kiss? That made almost no sense, but he didn’t say anything and took the spell that the strange man had written down and took it to his home.

He was willing to try anything and trying to cast this spell didn’t hurt. Worst case scenario, Christian tosses it in the trash, best case it works and he can figure out who Nadine likes to date. Christian pulled out the paper and began to read it.

After saying the last word the paper burned up in Christian’s hands, then the world around him began to crack. The cracks got larger and certain parts of reality shattered to pieces. It freaked Christian out so he closed his eyes and waited for it to stop.

When the sound stopped she opened her eyes. She wasn’t expecting all that much to change, after all, she only had to make her friends with Nadine, but Christian was shocked to find her entire bedroom had changed.

Instead of a messy boy’s room, it was a bright pink and purple girl’s room, with dresses and skirts everywhere, boy band posters, plushies, and makeup at her desk. Christian looked down at herself and nearly freaked out.

The spell changed reality all right, by turning Christian into a girl. One with long purple hair, and decent-sized breasts. Christian jumped off her bed and grabbed what used to be her backpack and is now a big purse.

She pulled out her driver's license and on it, she had a picture of her current self with the name Melody. So in a reality where she was born a female, her mother would have named her Melody. She thought it was kind of cute, but why on earth was she a girl?

How did it help her get closer to Nadine? As if some higher power was answering her question, Melody’s phone beeped with a notification. She walked over to grab it and was surprised it was a message from Nadine.

It was also a private message not a part of the group messages where they normally talked. Melody also noticed that her name had bff and heart emojis next to it. Melody then read through their message history and it became clear they were like best friends in this reality.

That was perfect, Melody could use that to figure out what guys she’s into. Melody texted Nadine and asked if she was busy this weekend. Nadine responded that she wasn’t, so Melody invited her to hang out.

Nadine agreed and the following morning she showed up to Melody’s house. That day Melody and Nadine went shopping together, had lunch, and even saw a movie together. The whole time, Melody snuck in little subtle questions to test to see who she’d be into.

Nadine always seemed to avoid the questions or give a nonanswer, but Melody wasn’t giving up. She still had a day to figure it out. Nadine ended up staying at her house that way they could leave first thing in the morning and head to a cool hiking trail Nadine found.

Melody barely got any sleep, as she’d never imagined having Nadine sleeping in the same room as her. Yeah, it was on an air mattress on the floor next to her, but it was still a big step that she wasn’t entirely prepared for.

She had to stop watching her sleep and pretend she wasn't there just in order to get any sleep. The following morning Melody packed up the air mattress while Nadine got ready, and then Nadine made them breakfast while Melody got ready.

Melody was surprised at how naturally she brushed her hair out and used the many beauty products she now owned. Despite not ever using them before, she was operating as she had always done so.

Perhaps it was like muscle memory. Even though her mind wasn't from this reality, this body clearly was. So it made sense to her and she wasn’t willing to think about it further. Once she was ready and wearing something light, she ate with Nadine and the two drove over to the location.

Nadine had packed a ton of hiking stuff the day before. She said it was because the hike to where she wanted to go was about three hours in, so just in case they needed to camp out for the night, she brought a tent and anything else they may need.

It took two hours of driving to make it to the hiking trail. Once they arrived they unloaded the car and split all the stuff between the two of them so neither one was carrying too much, then they started to hike the trail up the mountain.

They made it to a lovely meadow halfway up the mountain by mid-afternoon. Nadine said this was the spot and the two of them started to unpack everything. Nadine set up the tent, and Melody set up a small campfire.

Once both of them were done they opened up some water and relaxed for a bit, it was a long walk. After a bit of time, Nadine pulled out some hotdogs and used the fire Melody made to cook them so they could have lunch.

After eating the two explored the area a bit, with Nadine showing Melody where all her favorite flowers grow. A couple of hours later, the sun started to set. Nadine got excited and pulled Melody to the ground with her to watch it.

Nadine said this was what she wanted to show Melody, how magical the sunset was in the meadow. The two of them watched it, and Melody had to admit it was nice, not just the sunset or the meadow but being here with Nadine who she loved.

The two of them were sitting there quickly having fun watching the sunset when Nadine suddenly said Melody’s name. Melody turned to face her and was met with Nadine jumping over to her. A split second later Nadine’s lips were pressed against Melody’s.

Melody was startled by this but did nothing to remove her lips. Her heart was fluttering and she was super excited, but at the same time, the wanting for that mysterious guy ran through her head. If she kissed someone this reality could become permanent.

Nadine removed her lips and then got super red. She apologized to Melody and said what she did was stupid. Melody was silent for a moment. The sun continued to go down until the only light was from the fire.

It was past the time that the spell should have worn off, so it seemed Nadine’s kiss sealed her fate in this reality and in this body, but it wasn't all bad. Nadine clearly liked her like this. She was Nadine's type and her best friend.

Nadine asked her to say something. Melody looked at her, smiled, and then apologized for going silent. She told Nadine that she was just stunned. She had been into her for so long but wasn't sure if she liked her back.

Nadine fell onto her back laughing. She was nervous and happy and it was just flowing out of her. Nadine told Melody she’d been dropping hints for a while, but Melody never said anything or seemed interested before, at least not until this weekend.

Melody lay on the ground next to her. Melody wasn't sure what to say, so she just said the situation was just crazy for her, and she was shy, and likely a million more excuses she could come up with. Nadine laughed and agreed that it was crazy and confusing.

She then grabbed Melody’s hand, and the two watched the stars together while lying on the ground. Melody may have suddenly found herself trapped in a new reality, but it wasn’t a bad one, sure she’ll have a lot to adjust to, but she’s not alone. The lover of her life, her soulmate was with her.
