He had a good offense with the daggers flying around, and a good defense to keep Gabby from getting too close. “That’s got to use a lot of mana, perhaps I should focus all my energy on dodging until he tires out.”
She looked at him. “Or I could give up on defense and go on an all-out assault. Give this guy everything I have, which might break through his shield. Either way, I’ll probably get a bunch of cuts.” Gabby looked around the area.
“Most of the villagers have escaped, so I could as well, but this guy is nuts and will definitely continue to hunt them down.” Gabby stopped in the air and looked down at the hunter and the swarm of daggers flying around him. “What’s your plan? You going to give up, you horny little bitch?”
“He’s smart and powerful, I’ll give him that… but it seems he has a temper… I’ll have to use that. I think continuing to dodge and staying out of reach will piss him off.” Gabby looked down at him and smiled.
“THE FUCK YOU SMILING AT BITCH!” The hunter swung both his hands up, and all of his daggers flew at Gabby in two groups. Gabby managed to dodge the first one but got hit by a few of the daggers in the second wave.
The daggers cut bits of her hair and split her hair ties in half causing them to fall out and her twin tails to fall down, along with cutting her top. “Dammit, I’m… I’m not fast enough…” Gabby looked at herself.
Her armor even though it didn’t cover most of her body still protected her whole body, the problem was it was pretty heavy. If she took it off she’d be faster, but if she got hit she could be severely hurt. “I’m not sure this is a good idea, but things have been nothing but crazy and bad ideas, so here goes.”
Gabby landed on the ground a good bit away from the hunter. She quickly unbuckled the straps holding her armor. The hunter stopped attacking her and watched curiously. “Oh? Are you giving up and submitting to your new master already?”
Gabby removed her boots and dropped them on the pile of her armor. She then took the remains of her top and spun it around since the back wasn’t ripped. “No need to cover yourself up, feel free to take it off, once you're mine you’ll never wear clothes again.”
Gabby spit on the ground and raised her hands. She summoned fireballs and threw them at him. “SO YOU STILL HAVE FIGHT LEFT? WELL, THEN I SHALL PUT YOU IN YOUR PLACE.” The hunter waved his hands again and his daggers flew at Gabby.
She flapped her wings and took off into the sky. She was right, she was much faster now without the armor, and when paired with The Hunter losing a large amount of mana every second, she would only become faster and faster than his dagger swarms.
“GOD DAMMIT, STAY STILL!” The man kept swinging his hands in the direction Gabby was flying. Gabby just toyed with him, flying around him and shooting small fireballs to distract him or force him to use mana to shield himself.
After a few minutes of this one of his dagger swarms suddenly fell to the ground. Gabby looked down at them and then at The Hunter. “Looks like you’re getting tired Cyclops.” The hunter looked annoyed and like he could barely breathe.
Then he suddenly stopped. He stood straight up and smiled. “Huh? What the fuc…” Gabby knew something was going on. She turned around and tried to fly off, but the hunter waved his hands and his dagger swarm started to move, this time three times faster.
‘DON’T FUCKING REFER TO ME AS A MONSTER!” “Fuck… it’s going to hit me.” Gabby took her spear and using all her might she threw it into the sky. A second later Gabby was hit by the dagger swarm and cut all over.
Most of the daggers were only cutting surface deep like paper cuts due to how many there were and how hard it was to get a precise hit using them in this way, but a few of them managed to hit Gabby in the right way to cause damage.
One cut through the right side of her waist, another her thigh on the same side. Her left elbow was cut open and a dagger went straight into her left shoulder. Then finally one of them hit her in the left eye handle first.
She could feel her eye swelling and knew it was bruised. After the swarm of daggers passed by her, they all fell to the ground. Gabby sat there, clothes torn up, bleeding in several places, and with her body screaming in pain.
“You should have been a good girl and given up. Now I’m going to lock you up and torture you until your body gives out.” Gabby went to speak and coughed a bit of blood. “What’s that? Did I cut your tongue out? Good, you have quite the mouth on you.”
“It must be hard… to be… a cyclops… with one… eye... You can’t even see… that you’ve lost…” The Hunter's eyes twitch and bulge from his head. “I AM NOT A GODDAMNED CYCLOPS! I’VE CHANGED MY MIND! I’m GOING TO KILL YOU!”
The Hunter summoned some wind and smashed it into the ground below him. Suddenly he was flying at a great speed right at Gabby. Gabby sat there watching him come to her. Her body hurt so much, and she only had the strength to move one more time.
She waited for him to get closer. “YOU’RE GOING TO DIE BITCH!” The hunter stuck her hand out toward her trying to put her hand with the razor-sharp winds coming out of it into her chest and through her heart.
Gabby simply smiled and moved a few inches to the side. That’s when her spear came flying back down and pieced through The Hunter's chest. It went clean through him leaving a nice big hole in his body.
He spit up blood and started to fall from the sky. The spear pierced the ground and seconds later The Hunter landed on it, putting a second hole into his body thanks to the spear. Gabby watched as he desperately tried to get free.
His blood poured out of several holes, including his mouth, which was the only reason he was silent. It finally hit him that he had lost and looked up at Gabby shooting her a disgusted look right before the color faded from his eyes.
“I... I did it. I stopped… them…” Gabby let out a smile, but then her eyelids became so heavy she couldn't keep them open. She passed out and fell to the ground. The next thing she knew, she was peacefully watching the moon in the night sky.
That only turned out to be a dream though as she woke up some time later inside one of the destroyed village homes. She managed to get herself up and sit on a table pushed up next to a window.
“Ugh… everything… hurts… What happened?” She looked at her clothes, they were ripped to shreds, and she had large scabs over her body where she’d been stabbed in her fight. “Right... I was fighting The Hunters, and I won. I must have passed out afterward.”
Gabby rubbed the scab. “From the looks of it, I might have been out a few days, maybe even a week. I wonder if that means someone has been taking care of me.” “I sure have.” Gabby jerked to the side and looked towards the voice.
“Who’s there!” A person in the shadow of the room raised her hands and stepped forward. It turned out to be a small goblin girl. “No need to be on edge. I’m the one who’s been treating your wounds.” Gabby let out a sigh of relief knowing it wasn’t an enemy.
“Really? Thank you so much. I’m Gabby.” The girl laughed. “Oh, I know you. You’re the town heroin.” Gabby rubbed her head. She was a bit embarrassed. “I wouldn't say that.” “I would, you saved a lot of lives, a lot of monster lives, even though you were born a human. You put value in their lives.”
Gabby stopped being embarrassed and looked at the girl. “How do you know that?” The girl looked at her confused. “Oh right, you don’t recognize me. Give me one second.” The goblin girl suddenly started to grow and change shape.
Suddenly she was a guy with short black hair and large round glasses. “Master? It’s you!” Gabby jumped up and hugged him. “Ouch... I missed you.” He let out a sigh. “Gabby.. I missed you too, now sit back down, you’re still injured.” “Oh right,” Gabby said smiling.
“So… What’s the situation?” Gabby asked, hoping for good news. “Well, only a dozen or so people were killed, the rest survived and are grouped up in the bunker waiting for you.” Gabby raised an eyebrow. “Why are they waiting for me?”
Master looked at her and looked serious. “Because you gave them hope. They don’t want to run anymore. They want to fight the hunters and they want to bring peace among humans and monsters.”
Gabby gulped. “I... I gave them hope?” Master nodded. “Up until now, monsters have been forced to flee and die because attacking would lead to more powerful humans coming and wiping out the entire lot.” Master looked out the window.
“But you showed them they didn’t have to take it. You showed them they’re not weak and helpless.” He looked at Gabby. “I know you were a human, and this isn't your fight, but the monsters look up to you. They want you to lead them to a better future.”
Master reached his hand out. “So will you join us in our fight? Gabby, Queen Of The Monsters.” Gabby looked him in the eyes. She wasn’t sure what to say. After living among monsters for months as one of them, she knew they were people just like humans.
They had friends, families, jobs, they had lives, and peaceful lives that they just wanted to live, but the humans allowed the hunters to ruin that time and time again because The hunters used fear and misinformation to justify their actions.
Gabby now knew it was wrong and needed to be stopped. She truly believed without the hunters the humans and other races could learn to live with monsters. Gabby looked at Master. “I’ll fight with you. I’ll fight for a better world for everyone to live in.” Gabby said as she grabbed his hand.
