Evostila drew her sword and pointed it at the prince of Hooleus Prince Demetrios. She had come to claim his kingdom for herself and end a conquest her father started over fifty years ago, the problem was that she was about to learn a hard truth that was kept from her.

She had no idea, but there was a reason the KIngdom of Hooleus had remained independent and free from the emperor's rule. The kingdom had a ridiculously strong connection to magic, and they had advanced technology beyond that of the emperor's capabilities.

Her father never mentioned it since it would have been humiliating, but he actually did try to conquer Hooleus, when he arrived at the wall as Evostila did, he was met with the former king, who wasted no time demonstrating their power by destroying half of his army in a second.

Emperor Evostilus knew he was no match for King Demetrius and his defenses, so he retreated. After that the Empire and the kingdom of Hooleus were at an unspoken peace, mostly because Hooleus didn’t care enough to go after them, had they, the empire would have fallen.

They had enough land and no desire to expand, so the empire was safe. Emperor Evostilus then did everything possible to cover up his failure, by paying off soldiers and silencing others. His worry was that his people would defect to the safety of this untouchable kingdom.

Evostila wasn’t her father, so she really didn’t understand the difference in power between them, and thus she gave the order to attack. Demetrios reached his hands up and gave the order for the magical turrets next to him to begin firing.

In seconds the empire army was shattered. The prince lifted his hand and the firing stopped. He gave Evostila one last chance to leave, saying this was merely a fraction of what he could do. Evostila scoffed and told him she was going to kill him for that.

Demetrios sighed, then he pointed towards the empire's capital and told the turrets to target to destroy the castle. Evostila raised an eyebrow, even though they could see it because it was so big, it was hundreds of miles away.

The turret aims, then sends a barrage of blasts that fly so fast Evostila could barely see them. Then in the distance, she sees her castle start to explode. Her jaw drops as she watches it get hit and hit until it is nothing but rubble.

Evostila turned around and jumped off her mount, laughing herself up at the wall and running up it. She went right to try to attack the prince. Of course, she was only able to get through the barrier because he allowed her to.

She swung her swords down at Demetrios, which he blocked using the holy sword Ipagam which caused Evostila’s swords to shatter into pieces. Evostila was pissed and tossed them aside in favor of using her fists.

She was smaller than Demetrios and because of that, she was much faster. So she was able to get past his sword and punch him in the chest as hard as she could. She was well known in her army for shattering armor with just a punch, so that’s what she expected to happen.

Instead, it was her armor that shattered to pieces, all the way up her arm and half of her chest, leaving one of her breasts exposed. Demetrios sheathed his sword, then grabbed her arm which no longer had armor.

He knew this fight was over, and because of that he saw no need to hurt her or let her hurt herself, but Evostila wasn't giving up. Using her other hand she punished him as hard as she could, but got the same result, her armor shattering and her chest completely exposed.

She tried to punch him again, but he grabbed her other arm and lifted her into the air, which she took as her opportunity to attack again. She took both of her feet and kicked into his stomach as hard as she could, and yet again her armor was the one that broke.

Now she was completely naked and being held by the enemy. Demetrios turned her around and walked her over to the edge of the wall. Then using magic he projected his voice so the empire's army could hear him.

He told them the battle was over, they lost and he had captured their empress. He then told them to lay down their weapons and surrender. If they did, he’d allow them to leave, and send out his finest healers to help those who hadn't perished in the battle.

Evostila started to scream at them to keep fighting, as she struggled to get free. All of them seeing how helpless she was, made it obvious there was no point in fighting anymore. So Evostila watched as her army betrayed her and gave up.

She flipped out calling them all cowards and saying she’ll have them executed for treason. Demetrios, having heard enough, had her brought into the castle dungeon and chained up while she was still naked.

A week passed, while Evostila was trapped in the dungeon. The only time she saw anyone was when the warden brought her food. She was angry and already plotting to escape and get revenge on the prince and her army of cowards.

Evostila was sitting in the dungeon shaking her cell gate while loudly screaming to be released when she heard a large amount of footsteps coming. Evostila got quiet, she knew what that meant, a group of knights was coming for her, likely to execute her.

The knights pull her out of her cell and push her onto her knees on the floor. She was now faced in front of a trio of wizards wearing white robes. The elder of the r three calls out to the king to come on over so they can complete the spell...

Evostila spit at them and told them not to touch her, then she realized something. What king? She had the king killed, all this kingdom had was a pathetic prince who wouldn’t take the throne. Then she saw him.

It was in fact Prince Demetrios, but he was now wearing the crown of Telif, which was passed from king to king in this kingdom. Evostila laughed at him, saying the puny little prince finally thinks he’s big enough to be king.

Demetrios ignored them and told them to begin the spell to bind the empress to him. Evostila squinted her eyes and asked what the hell he was talking about. Demetrios continued to ignore her and watched as the wizards got to work.

Evostila started to panic a bit and tried to get away, but when she wasn't looking the knights had chained her wrists to her ankles, so she wasn’t even able to crawl away. Evostila was hit with the spell and felt as if something burned onto her neck.

Then the wizards told Demetrios to stick his hand out and claim her. He nodded and did so. Evostila watched as a red mark appeared on his hand. It was such a strange symbol. Demetrios noticed her and looked at it and decided to tell her what it was.

He told her it was a word form and ancient magical language that had been lost in all parts of the world, all but Hooleus. He said the one on his hand said owner and the one on her neck said slave, making him her new owner.

Evostila called him a bastard, to which he reached his hand out and commanded her to stop using vulgar language and no longer speak unless spoken to. Evostila felt her lips tightly pressed against each other. She was now unable to speak.

Demetrios walked over to her and knelt down. He told her that she and her father had hurt enough people. He admitted to not wanting to get involved, much like his father, but he’s now realized that was the wrong thing to do.

He was going to set the people they conquered free. Evostila couldn't say anything but she looked at him angrily. Demetrios said that was why he finally took the throne, as he knew had a good reason to be king.

He then told Evostila that the best way to achieve peace and gain control of her empire without any problems from those who lived in the capital was for Evostila to marry him. Evostila started to look panicked and thrashed around.

Demetrios reached his hand out and gave her some new commands, the first being that she was going to be well-behaved from now on, the second being that she was going to be more than happy to marry him, and the third, she’d dedicate her life to make up for her and her father's evil deeds.

Evostila felt her new commands take hold deep in her mind. The once hateful, vulgar fiery empress was no more, now she was a dainty caring, and kind queen. Demetrios then reached out and took the hand of his queen and walked her upstairs to her new life.

I don't know if it helps, but the prince is also a main character as some of the story is told from his perspective. Although he didn't get an image, so maybe it doesn't help.

Riley

I have strange feelings from this story... in my mind I understand that Evostila got what she deserved and the punishment for the actions of her and her father is quite fair... but at the same time, in my soul I simply cannot perceive her as a villain, because she is the main character of this story... in general, I’m currently struggling with two completely opposite opinions... and it’s cool, you’ve outdone yourself again Riley!
