Bloodbrow prefers iron, Brawnsong prefers gold. Whilst trying to get an apprenticeship under Carmine, Bevel lends his skills as a jewelry smith to make some money I hopes of someday buying a master work sword from his cousin. Carmine is not thrilled but happy he is fixing jewelry so she doesn’t have to be asked 10x a day if she does.
Carmine as trained by her famous father to be the best of the best aka she not only makes master work weaponry, she can use them with mastery. Her father essentially dubbed her his greatest prize he’s ever forged, but years of being pushed to her limit, insulted, beaten, broken down to be rebuilt, she outpaced her fathers skill, and eventually when he was in his final days, promised she would never take an apprentice and the family tradition would be lost with her. So when bevel comes asking to be her apprentice, she is not having it. Though his ulterior motive is to apprentice under her as a fighter, not a smith, and eventually she agrees to the latter without realizing that’s what he wanted to begin with 😂 he’s rude like that
She makes him punch the anvil everyday and bend iron with his bare hands and all the things she had to do, but she’s a much nicer teacher. Bevel and Carmine are cousins, but because she’s older he sometimes calls her auntie as a show of respect/disrespect cause she hates it.
Raff DEF has a dream of commissioning Master Bloodbrow for a sword, and prob is a big fan. I wanna put Portia and Edwin in fantasy but can’t decide if they’d both be halflings, or if it’d be funnier if Edwin’s a gnome and Portia’s a human… or an orc… haha
