Hearing so much love for it makes me debate, I’ve said before how he is designed to be a cis man, but def enjoy hearing how many have said he’s transition goals! I’m always open for people to interpret my characters in ways they enjoy or connect with, I’ll canonize it in an au.
A large part of Edwin’s arc is his struggle with masculinity/sexuality/social connection as someone who is probably on the spectrum and queer, most of his pitfalls are the result of trying to be something he’s not, and isnt truly comfortable until he accepts it and is openly himself rather than shut off and distant and can pursue happiness.
So now I go back and forth, I like both interpretations. But fear not, there’s already 2 trans masc characters (Portia’s step-daddy and Edwin’s tattoo artist) who I’ll get into next. I want people to feel seen with my art.
Anyway. Portia would be a super affirming, but humbling partner. She’s got the spirit tho can come across… as maybe a lil blunt/rude. She’s just nonchalant. Edwin’s been moping thinking she’d never go out with him because she dates cis dumb finance bros but in reality she hates them, and only dates them for their money and is soooo toxic to them, and then goes out with everyone under the sun for fun, if she likes you, she likes you. But Edwin finds himself in her bed and is very pleased to be there thank u v much.
Regardless I’m gonna make a trans short king oc <3. If y’all have any characteristic suggestions…. Let me know ;) it doesn’t have to be in Edwin and Portia’s setting, I was actually considering a knight hehe
