He has a strong distaste for humans, with the pollution, abuse of nature, etc. ability wise, I think Edwin’s would have a crazy regeneration so like limbs can be popped back on or regrown, etc, maybe some other plant abilities, but he’s still trying to figure it out since it’s new. He quickly finds his abilities help with ‘pollination’ aka smells and tasted p tasty :)
Portia has super strength and essentially is an incredible hero who’s been kinda pushed into the beautiful woman bubble, aka costume has to be skimpy, her credit is given to other hero’s, clearly she can’t be brawny and smart etc, and she’s kinda disenfranchised. She works more in PR side of things now since her actual work would be overseen, so often she is underestimated just how strong she is. ‘I don’t start fights, but I finish them’ eventually she is given the task to guard/transport a scientist only it turns out to be the enemy she had in highschool (who she is still very into even tho he’s even more of a plant dad)
